Oh man where do I begin. It's Saul Griffith with a solar powered bicycle he's designed. It's like a moped with solar panels strapped to each side of it so it looks like you're driving around an AC filter. He's standing behind it holding a watermelon and a couple of bags of snacks or something which apparently can all fit inside the bike. He looks very pleased. I would be too. We need the AC Filter bike. We yearn for the AC Filter bike.

Close up photo of RBS class teacher Brian Cassidy demonstrating pulling a master (like carbon paper, uses writing pressure to transfer ink to paper) that's been pressed against a hectographic-recipe gelatin, leaving ink in the shape of the drawing on the gelatin. It looks like someone pulling a sheet of paper off a pan of purple jello, with the same drawing on both the gelatin and the sheet being pulled off it.

Did hectography (aka jellygraph; a way of making duplicates of writing/art) in my RBS class w/for a collaborative class zine. Ingredients=kitchen/pharmacy stuff you'd have on hand for many reasons (eg gelatin) & can go down sink drain, so users included folks fearing gov searches. #DHmakes

We are losing stars one streetlight, one neon sign, one suburb at a time For most of human history, the night sky has been a shared inheritance, a source of wonder. Now, more than a billion children see barely any stars in the night sky above their homes. So what does that...

In 1987, as a WNET-13 editor, I traveled to LA for the PBS taping of Mancini and Friends, with Mancini conducting. Plas must have been one of those Friends. A great night for fans of Mancini, and for a young editor only 6 years into a TV career.
