UWU condemns the Israeli Government’s blockade on humanitarian aid, including food, entering Gaza, putting more than two million Palestinians at critical risk of mass starvation. We call on the Australian Government to take immediate steps to secure peace and compliance with international law.

Less that we left and more that we have limited resources to allocate so we have been focusing those where have already built large audiences. But we have a plan to create more regular content for Bluesky that started with this!

This starts with 600 cleaners from the Hunter Valley and Central Coast with additional protections for the remaining 6400 still working under contract.

This isn’t about extra funding. It’s about workers getting paid properly and having secure jobs so they can keep delivering essential services.

That’s why workers are taking action today until they win fair wages! This phase of action includes:
✅ Refusing unpaid admin work
✅ Not filling out fleet logbooks
✅ Chalking DHS vans with ‘Safe Support Services NOW!’
✅ Leaving council bins for management to move

Safe support services depend on a stable workforce. But right now, low pay and job insecurity are forcing experienced workers out of the sector. That puts the people they support at risk.

These workers provide critical disability support services, but many can no longer afford to stay in the job. Instead of fixing this, DHS is relying on agency workers to fill shifts.

$50 MILLION - the amount of money Woolworths is willing to pay to ignore striking workers' call for a fair workplace.

It seems they saved up a lot by squeezing their shoppers and workers over the last few years!

A very long-fought campaign win for @unitedworkers.org.au Early Educators! 15% on such a low wage is more of a parity than a raise, but this is still a win (and some much-needed breathing room). Tonight we celebrate, tomorrow the battle begins anew!

"You are trespassing! Please leave the area! This area is under video surveillance, and you have been recorded."
