A Tale of Two Wastelands was absolutely worth the effort to set it up. Everything feels and plays great. They walk you through it so anyone can do it, just set aside some time because it takes some time.
The annoying thing about the "oh we left a placeholder" generative AI slop excuse is that that is EXACTLY NOT how you should be using placeholders. Anything "not obviously terrible with a panicked hurried half-awake glance" is getting shipped.

Been playing MMOs since the start. Played 10+ years of FFXI along the way. Still marvel at the Square Enix account systems. Like nothing else.
