For sure! I live 100 miles from there now and there are a couple pair I see in the area up here. But it's still fun and special to see that nest from my folks' front window.

I have access to the base of that tree which is decidedly less fun an experience. 💩 But still cool to be so close.

5-10 years ago part of the nest collapsed and I they were without eagles for a year.

But a pair came back and rebuilt, and to this day there's a pair that show up between Thanksgiving and Christmas to prepare and sit on those eggs through it all.

Meanwhile, eagles are seemingly everywhere (good)!

Seriously, it was a BFD. Their nest became the size of an old Buick, approximately 70 feet in the air.

When my folks built a house in the early aughts, their front window overlooked the area (they still have a spotting scope perched to watch them (and their cattle in the adjacent pasture)).

I remember vividly in the early 1990's when a pair of eagles started nesting in my "backyard" (along the MN river bank in a tree on my grandparents' farm).

People drove for MANY MANY MILES to see them from the elevated nearby road. "Traffic jammed." We had DNR restrictions on nearby equipment use.

Sure are. Better or worse, a good chunk of the fleet doesn't align well with the philosophy behind autopilot (edu).

That being said, I'm interested in getting to a point of using autopilot for the other part of the fleet but there are unrelated barriers atm. We'll be CM OSD for a good while yet.

Going on book tour for the first time in a decade. Terrified and excited.

1000% this. It's a journey.

I met up with our team just last week to re-review and make minor adjustments that help _everyone_ in the end.

And those adjustments were minor because in previous iterations we'd done the work to address the egregious things. There is (generally) no magic wand.

For the uninitiated, she takes comments from the audience via text during shows. Both my wife and I submitted things, but I never added the number to a proper contact.

Wife got the same text update (along with presumably...thousands of others), but it gave me a fun "TF" moment this afternoon... 🤣

Today I received a seemingly random text message. I was all "TF is this garbage?"

I open it and see ... this number and I have a _history_ 🤔

I scroll back and figure it out. Turns out it's an update from Taylor Tomlinson from that time a ~year ago when we went to see her on tour in Minneapolis. 🤣

I can't get over this number: in 2007, there were 360,000 newspaper jobs. Now, there are 80,000. "My local paper sucked!" Sure. What sucks even more? The void. "I get all my news from the Guardian!" No, the Guardian doesn't report on your town council, your school board, local cops.

Don is amazing! I met him at my first MMS and over beers asked his opinion about a thing I'd created with Powershell (verification versus "solve this for me").

I didn't know who he was then; afterward, the fact he was so kind and generous with his time (and sharing details) really stuck with me.

Today, I made a very strategic decision in my job search.

I took a nap.
