It can't help that games are viewed primarily as a "product" nowadays and thus fall to the fallacy of "the customer is always right"
If we want games to be considered art, we need to allow them to have an independent artistic vision!

This so much. Player feedback, even well-meaning, lacks the context, stakes, vision that the creator intends and is only made from the perspective of a single player.

Player feedback, playtesting, understanding your players and how your game connects to them is critical to making games. But that doesn't mean taking any feedback and giving it full creative weight. Players don't have the full context of your vision or the experience you want to evoke in them.
