a handmade felt soft sculpture doll sitting on a raw wood slice on a white background. The doll has a mossy green colour with an onion shaped head and squat seated body with two arms and two legs and is covered in hand sewn felt mushrooms in orange, mustard and cream, green leaves, flowers, and tufted mossy areas made using thread and embellished with seed beads. The character’s eyes look sleepy and it looks like it is being overtaken and encompassed by the forest on all sides.

A soft sculpture I made for the annual Small Works show at Beinart Gallery a couple of years ago. I’m currently working on a larger collection of pieces in this theme/style (slightly overwhelmed by the open ended possibilities, but it should be fun… 😬)
