there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for

holding old timer bats so they can still feel like flappy lads is some real heartwarming stuff
The River Has Roots by @amalelmohtar.com is absolutely incredible.
Do yourself a favor: take the next hour or so, sit down with a coffee or tea or whatever cozy beverage you prefer, and bathe in the magic of its grammar.

Seven minutes that caught my breath in my throat. Beautifully delivered by Domnhall Gleeson, beautifully edited. We spend life waiting just to have the time.
I spent my Friday night organising my storage and digital photos, because I never have time.

So Philip Glass just joined TikTok. He only has like 4 posts and theyβre simply him in what I assume is his living room playing the piano. First comment on one I saw was βyour piano is too close to the fireplace, youβll dry it outβ and if thatβs not the internet in a nutshell I donβt know what is.
2 new Pixar original films have been revealed:
β’ βOno Ghost Marketβ - A film inspired by Asian myths about supernatural bazaars where the living & dead interact

Hank Hill hotdog jpeg meme but the caption reads: "I do not want to save to onedrive. I want to save to the documents folder... On my computer... That I own... In my house."
Whoever decided that this "onedrive" nonsense should be turned on people's computers by default & fucking with file placement without our knowledge or permission should be [REDACTED] sorry I mean [REDACTED] aww dangit I just mean IT BAD OKAY
Reminder, because it can feel VERY hard to believe in these unpleasant times:
Transphobes are a vanishingly tiny minority.
Smaller still than transgender people themselves.
Most people are actually completely fine with our inclusion and existence. They just don't have billionaire megaphones.
This is the energy #LDConf debate chairs need to bring

So. Avatar, Arco and the Animated shorts. Can I do it by the 15th? Do I want to force myself to watch another damn Avatar movie?
I've gone from having watched 109 or 87% of all nominations to 117 nominations or 94% in one film.
I've now seen over 90% of total runtime (69hr 21 min - 92.18%) and completed 20 categories.
Hamnet means I have hit a huge milestone. Only two feature length films (Avatar + Arco) and the five animated shorts left.
It was the final nominee I needed for Best Picture, Director, Actress, Adapted Screenplay, Original Score, Production Design and Casting.
The final Big Hitter down - Hamnet
I am sure it was better in a cinema. The cinematography is gorgeous. If anything, I do agree with critiques it was overwrought and manipulative. The acting aims for 11/10 too often.

Westminster Meeting House raided by Metropolitan Police again. Statement: βFor Quakers, faith and action are inseparable. Peaceful protest, prayer and nonviolent action are integral parts of many Quakers' religious life. Whilst we take the planning of criminal acts very seriously, we believe that this incident is a deliberate targeting of committed young people who want to make our country a more equitable place. This raid is part of a systematic stifling of dissent. That this is the second time in a year that the police have raided our meeting house dramatically illuminates the broader trend in the UK of cracking down on those who disagree with the government. The right to protest is fundamental to our democracy. It's a key part of how people make their voices heard between elections.β β Oliver Robertson, Head of Witness and Worship Quakers in Britain, 5 March 2026
Yesterday evening, for the second time in a year, the Met Police raided Westminster Quaker Meeting House and arrested a number of young nonviolent activists.

As always: its not just grammars you're bringing back, its secondary moderns.
And no one wants their kids to go to one. Which is a issue when 75% of kids will do so.
Always missed in this debate. You're making the education of the majority worse, to privilage a small minority.
If you're doomscrolling, guess what? So far there are 51 kΔkΔpΕ chicks hatched and thriving this season, the same number of birds as we had in TOTAL in the 90s! Only one chick has died and there are still fertile eggs waiting to hatch!

If you want a big wall of feel good stories from the past 30 years of PokΓ©mon, I asked developers, creators, and media folks to tell me a story about how the series has affected their lives for the better.
The "rather" is killing me. But they'll take it if needed.
