Apparently someone close to where I work at uses AI all the time and his first order to it was "never flatter me", which is frankly phenomenal as a setup prompt

Great thread on just general overreactions to LLM usage imo. I've seen others react in very aggressive ways and it doesn't build relationships.

"Congress does not have a constitutional role in the declaration of war" is just an absolutely stunning thing to say.

A really good indication of the level of dumb / willfully ignorant / disingenuous / radical that is required to defend this regime and its disastrously reckless, illegal actions.

Pretty crazy how important the blockade of a trade route is right now

I think that domestically the "he can't fuck up enough" is probably correct, but he's CONSISTENTLY had foreign folks stand up to him so it's no surprise his fuckup was in foreign relations

Luxe Nova, the peak of VR entertainment, is experimenting with EU-friendly time slots!

If timezone differences have kept you from attending their shows, this is your chance to change that.
Show up, show out, and let them know the demand is real.

Stunning!

Absolutely stunning.

Don’t blame the military for this. Blame the civilian leadership of the DOD & NSC

5/ And on the Strait of Hormuz, they had NO PLAN. I can't go into more detail about how Iran gums up the Strait, but suffice it say, right now, they don't know how to get it safely back open.

Which is unforgiveable, because this part of the disaster was 100% foreseeable.

This is not really a thing that, if it continues, has a quick "undo" button, either.

Just because I'm not sure I've seen anyone else draw the connection: Mining the Strait of Hormuz is the first new action taken by Mojtaba Khamenei since his ascension. It's a pretty good indicator of where things are headed.

The conflict in Iran is incredibly expensive and totally optional – but we can’t look away from Trump’s domestic failures either.

We need to release all the Epstein Files. We need to get health care for all Americans.

More footage of the missile attack on Bryansk. Locals reported over 10 explosions. The General Staff meanwhile confirmed a Storm Shadow missile attack on the Kremniy El microelectronics plant which inflicted significant damage to production facilities. #Ukraine

the blowtorch. I also wouldn't hold the first guy responsible if the untrained guy then intentionally burned down a house. There's a difference between uninformed decisions and malicious decisions imo

10.03.2026 18:19 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Feels like removing a tool that would objectively help a lot of groups by reducing moderation workload because bad actors might use it badly in their own instances is just overstretch. To use your blowtorch example, yeah I probably wouldn't give the guy who isn't trained how to use a blowtorch

10.03.2026 18:19 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

decides that only their buddies can use full avis and everyone else has to wear greens, they should absolutely be flamed for that by those green folks, but that's their instance at the end of the day and I don't think VRChat should police that kind of thing. Let em reap what they sow ya know?

10.03.2026 18:19 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Okay, I def see our difference in perspectives here - I just don't think VRChat is responsible for the actions of the leadership of Groups. If a group decides to use a tool maliciously then that's their prerogative and I think people just shouldn't engage with that group. Like if a social club

10.03.2026 18:19 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

have stronger PCs to load heavy avis.

Not following the principle argument - I don't really see a downside of VRChat giving us more tools to use and folks can opt to use them or not. To me, that just seems like a win for everyone.

They definitely place a burden on attendees, but it's one we're open and transparent about from the start (which I assume most groups will be bad at) and it's easily met with the current avi search worlds where you can search by performance spec. I think that's way easier to hit than for staff to

I can see some spaces where this would be abused but I know a lot of places where this could be used very well. Always in to the devs giving us more options to use.
