There's an emergency "Stop the War in Iran" protest kicking off in NYC at 2 pm at Times Square. www.answercoalition.org/iran/ - I'm going to head out. I've also included the list of other protests across the country.
That last line, "That directly violates your instruction.", is absolute bonkers!
This is the cutest fucking thing I've seen all day. I am a puddle right now

The Missing Semester of your CS education [MIT IAP 2026] - https://missing.csail.mit.edu
In January, @anishathalye.bsky.social, @josejg.bsky.social, and I returned to @csail.mit.edu to teach Missing Semester, a class on topics we miss from most CS programsβtools and techniques that everyone should know, like Bash, Git, CI, and AI tools. Today, weβre releasing the course for free online!
This.
Again, if the topic of discussion is the intersection of racism and ableism, in particular, anti-Black racism and Tourette syndrome with coprolalia, listen to people who have expertise and lived experience with both.β₯οΈππΏ
And they will say the same things that I and other Black folk have said.

Alysa Liu telling 60 Minutes βI love struggling, it makes me feel aliveβ is a legit revolutionary statement from a Bay Area native in a time when copious amounts of time and resources are being put toward convincing us to opt out of experiencing struggle, friction and self-actualization
βOh my god, itβs a grown man and a kid,β someone in the restaurant can be heard saying. βWhere are the police?β

I just ran through midtown on a weekend. What a scene!
Also this is a thing??
Or "atvatar"
Me holding plastic that was trapped in a tree. Just tossed it in the trash. You can just do things
The "you can just do things" philosophy of atproto is spilling over to the rest of my life.
I get super annoyed when I see plastic garbage stuck in trees when I'm out on my runs. For the ones I can reach, I now grab it and toss it.
People! We can just do things!
btw, @piss.beauty I'm listening to banana mix and it's so π₯π₯π₯

Who can I nerdsnipe to make a Sonos service for all the great music on the ATmosphere
Imagine: ATmosphere Radio and each channel is a different atproto app using (hopefully) the same music lexicon
Just discovered some great artists on plyr.fm and I wish I could stream it π₯ΊππΎππΎ
Introducing Wireservice. Today, it's a WordPress plugin in alpha for publishing to @standard.site. Tomorrow, it's... another longform content lexicon? A news aggregation app on atproto? We'll see. wordpress.wireservice.net/index.php/20...

I just upgraded to the pre-release version of @obsidian.md Ink by @daledesilva.bsky.social and whoa! π€― I'm in love π
I can easily sketch in my notes now and the underlying image is an SVG! portability FTW! what a great experience! thanks Dale!
one idea I am working on is to build an open platform that is easy to use for educators to share and remix each other's work with easy attribution. Users have ownership of content. Good UX.
Behind the scenes it will be seamlessly integrated in the ATmosphere with the power of version control, etc.
π§ͺπ Yesterday, we uploaded a revised version of our preprint. The reviewers were super helpful in their comments. Definitely made the paper more legible and a delight to read.

Bummed I missed it too but looking forward to the recording!
looking forward to the demo!
interesting thing happened when I registered through Smoke Signal, I got a confirmation through OpenMeet. It looks like the event was created there but Smoke Signal picks up all the events in the shared lexicon. Maybe @smokesignal.events can backlink to the originator?
