For web dev I always recommend people set them to always show!
Otherwise people don't notice they have scrollable containers all over their website

I'm in one of the most remote towns in Japan and they're still putting this gobshite on the telly
Same here, it ends up getting distracted by the wrong files or fixing things that are unrelated.
We came to Japan to find some snow and it definitely delivered! ๐โ๏ธ
found out we were dropping 30% of users on our sign up page which seems quite excessive!
so I redesigned it this week to just show all the oauth buttons (before user had to enter email first).
And also created better 'remember-me' functionality so that users know how they signed in last time
That would be awesome
The icon thing was a bit of an extra dunk because it's so silly, the main points to me are;
- rounded corners make resizing windows a test of patience
- icons instead of text
- hidden scrollbars
- glass stuff/gross shadows completely break the visual hierachy
macOS Tahoe is such a ridiculous step backwards for user interface design
Look at it vs Aqua (which is 25 years old btw)
What we we're promised:
> AI will take your shit job
What we got:
> Your job is now supervising AI doing the same shit job you were doing but it's doing it worse
Merry Christmas from Chiang Mai! ๐น๐ญ๐๐
A bit different to last year lol โต๐๐
Absolutely right! It's just the new Xmas flavour haha
my toxic trait is that I will always buy the weirdest flavour chips
It's Thursday so that means it's the meeting of the Bangkok people who ship stuff! ๐
We changed intros to 10:30 this week which was much better for the lazy Bangkok people ๐
Soon we'll do demos, then spicy food and beers ๐ป
When the 10th customer in a row asks if they can still get the Black Friday discount ๐
Completely empty office at 10am, which was supposed to be when we started
Busy office by midday!
This is our weekly session of founders who ship in Bangkok - Hackumvit! ๐
We have a morning standup where we share what were shipping today, then focus! At 5pm we demo. Then we go for spicy food + beers together ๐ป
But I've got to get used to no-one being able to do anything before 11am here ๐
yeah that's probably why, xyz was *really* cheap with no restrictions for a while
how's your deliverability lol
๐จ PSA - before you buy a cute new gTLD for your project, bear in mind that the cute ones are being overwhelmingly used for phishing scams
It will be harder to build email reputation with .xyz .shop etc - you'll go to spam
Always better to stick with .com

Yeah pre-ordered! We only realised you could do it yesterday ๐
Huge round sourdough and two ice coffees
Last night we ordered on Grab minutes before going to sleep, and woke up to a freshly baked sourdough this morning ๐๐
Bangkok is the best ๐น๐ญโฅ๏ธ
I like them! They got so much engagement on X that people started faking them and shit
I'm already bored of Black Friday emails, so I've made a blocklist for any matching emails in leavemealone.com so they don't land in my inbox ๐ช
AND after Cyber Monday I'll just automatically unsubscribe from all of them ๐คช๐

Yeah it's a bit of a pain to add people
That sounds cool
The MRR posts started off with genuine excitement for each other. We were all trying to make it. But then the group gets bigger and it's used as engagement bait
Always am! ๐
Hopefully!
Starter Packs were such a killer idea
A have a few friends who tried to get started with X and they always had the same complaint - my feed is full of garbage and people I don't care about!
Now I can send then a starter pack of cool people and they can start with a curated feed already! ๐
Same! It's what #buildinpublic used to be filled with. But then everything became about engagement and the actual interesting stuff became rarer
How do we keep the #buildinpublic scene here from being overwhelmed by the same engagement bait posts as on X?
What's the best way to share and celebrate each others wins (like in the old days) but without every post becoming a screenshot of an MRR chart? ๐
