A color photo of a Blonde Afghan Hound jumping over a wooden bar that's used as a prop in this pet portrait. This breed of dog is known for it's flowing, elegant coat. The dog's name is Gandhi, who lives in Belgium. The capture was taken by expert animal photographer, Paul Croes, of Germany in Nov. 2025.

Sunlight highlights the flowing water of a trailside stream somewhere in New Hampshire. The woods are heavily shadowed except for glimpses of sunlight on the water and rocks lining the waterway. Trunks of trees are dark in the background and sides of the stream. Monochrome image.
Quote is from "The Sound of Music" which just wouldn't leave my head when looking at the image.

Our photograph is taken from a very low angle, as if the viewer is standing at the base of two tall trees and looking straight up toward the sky. The trees dominate the frame, rising powerfully upward.

In the foreground, one thick tree trunk stands slightly to the right. Its bark is rough and textured, coloured in shades of grey and warm brown.

The trunk has been cut near the top, leaving a blunt, flat end where branches once grew. Wrapped tightly around this trunk are twisting vines, thin, rope-like tendrils that coil and spiral in every direction.

Some cling closely to the bark, while others loop outward in loose curves, creating a tangled, web-like pattern across the surface.

To the left stands a second tree trunk, slightly farther back. It too has been cut near the top, leaving two short, upward-pointing stubs that resemble raised arms or a forked shape.

This trunk is also heavily entwined with vines, though it is partly in shadow, making it appear darker and more dramatic.

The vines themselves are dry and woody, with small offshoots branching in many directions. They create a sense of movement, like frozen streams of twisting lines climbing toward the sky.

Behind the trees, the sky is a deep, rich blue with faint wisps of cloud. In the lower background, softer and more out of focus, other leafless trees can be seen, their thin branches forming delicate patterns against the sky.

The lighting is strong and directional, from bright sunlight. It casts highlights on the bark and vines, emphasizing their rough textures, while shadows deepen the grooves and crevices.

The overall feeling is dramatic and slightly wild, nature reclaiming the trees with a network of climbing vines, all set against a clear, open sky.

Finally, our picture is finished with a simple white border frame.

In the foreground is the sun-dappled turquoise water of a small lake. There are narrow waterfalls cascading over a ridge, into the lake. In between the plumes of water, long green plants hang gracefully from the top of the ridge. To the left of the waterfalls, a small tree is growing close to the lake and the leaves take on a yellow hue in the bright sunshine. Trees in various shades of green and yellow are growing behind the ridge. The sunlight is reflecting off the lake, the plants on the edge of the lake, and the waterfalls as they flow down.

This is a black-and-white photograph of a quiet riverside scene, calm and reflective in mood.

In the lower foreground there is a grassy bank that slopes gently down toward the water.

The grass looks short and slightly rough, with a narrow concrete or stone platform extending out at the water’s edge.

Sitting on this platform is a lone fisherman. He appears bundled in a thick jacket and a hat, suggesting cool weather. He sits on a small folding chair, leaning slightly forward in a relaxed, patient posture as he watches his fishing line.

His fishing rod extends outward over the water. Beside him are a few pieces of fishing gear, a bag, a small box, and possibly a landing net resting near the edge of the platform.

The river in front of him is very still, creating clear reflections. The water mirrors the fisherman, the trees, and the sky, giving the scene a symmetrical, glass-like quality.

Across the water stand two tall, leafless trees with delicate, branching silhouettes. Their thin branches spread upward and outward like lace against the sky.

Because the trees have no leaves, the intricate network of twigs and branches is clearly visible. Their reflections stretch downward into the water.

Beyond the trees is a quiet suburban background. Low houses and buildings sit scattered along the far bank, with fences, telephone poles, and wires running across the scene.

Everything feels distant and subdued, softened by the monochrome tones.
The overall atmosphere is peaceful and contemplative.

The lone fisherman, the bare trees, and the calm reflective water create a sense of stillness, like a quiet moment of solitude beside the river.

Finally our picture is finished with a simple, white border frame.
