Local numbers, mostly, what's doing well in my market. Which shows we have to cancel because nobody bought any tickets. You obviously have more experience with this in the broad scope, but this is also my day-to-day. I don't mean to pick a fight - I respect you a lot. I'm just passionate about it.
Sure, but some kinds absolutely play worse in theaters than they used to, and the decimation of the home market doesn't help things. I just wonder what can be done to make those movies more successful, because investing a lot in stuff that flops will only stop them from investing anything later.
Like, my takeaway from Iron Lung's success is that there's an audience of 15 to 30 year old people who really want to see stuff they watched on YouTube on the big screen because it feels legitimizing for their interests. Same deal with anime movies getting super huge over the last few years.
I don't disagree with your conclusion but, unfortunately, as someone working at a movie theater in the middle of Kansas I'm hyper-aware of how often new stuff from exciting voices completely flops. There are definitely places where they succeed (NY, LA), but here? So many great things fail.
FF16 gets away with it because I truly did not understand what they were saying at all until I looked up the lyrics afterwards
Phil Spencer is out. No matter what the future may bring, on this day I can weep a single tear of joy.
every once in a while I feel like time has sped up and everything feels fast and loud for like eight minutes. this happens every few months. I have no idea how to describe it in a way that doesn't make me sound like I'm losing my mind so I'm never gonna investigate it
earlier today I reached back out to a chinese friend of mine after a few months of silence and she said that she was really worried because everyone in china is talking about the "american kill line" and it made her think that something happened to me
There was talk for a while about 110 Industries wanting to work with Ys Net but I guess Wanted: Dead flopping didn't help. Shame. At least Ys Net partnered with ININ.
Bruce Nesmith stopped working at Bethesda half a decade ago.
the first 30 minutes of the Minecraft movie just feel like Napoleon Dynamite 2 and it's as close as we've ever gotten to Jared Hess making a third good movie. then the rest of the movie is absolute dogshit. one of the great tragedies of our time
it's so good
Sorry to hear that you ended up bouncing off of MH, I know the new games aren't to your taste at all but I was really stoked when you first tried the older titles.
When I was in Stockholm a few months ago an old man asked if I voted for Trump and I said "no, I'm a democrat" and he asked "is there a difference?" At first I thought it was him doing insightful political commentary, but then I found out he just genuinely didn't know. We had a nice convo. Cool guy.
it may not be your new favorite game but if you become one of the eighty people who played Lost Records: Bloom & Rage you'll probably like it
summerboy is a goated song tbh
this goes hard
Kid Icarus: Uprising has that effect on people, I've been there.
I agree that these things suck, but I just don't think that people are really put off of things because of the other side seeming flaky. It might get made fun of, people might get dragged for it, but it presents this as something where if you just committed they'd agree. I don't think that's true.
I don't believe this. Democrats taking things extremely seriously just leads to Republicans pushing back with as much ferocity. There's not some point where Dems say something with conviction and the right goes "they must have a point."
Watching Avatar 3 made me desperate to finally install this and give it a go.
Watched TGA with some friends at my place and the overwhelming reaction to Highguard was "oh, cool, we love Titanfall, we should give this a shot when it comes out." Going online and seeing a complete blastwaste surprised me.
Swapnote Nikki is real and strong and my friend
if they want to see a real iconic wichita clown they should look at our mayor hyuck hyuck (I'm scared for my city)
If this is the bookstore in Oslo that I think it is, when I went there with friends in August I was mostly just surprised that they had a whole section for this.
Men should not be gaming. Let alone receiving awards. Grow up
this is gonna do numbers
For comparison, every robotic mission NASA has ever sent in its history, from the dawn of the Space Age 65 years ago to today, from Mercury to Pluto and beyond, has cost less than $40B.
I know which one has done more for humankind and which one should be dismantled.
