During my career I've worked with literal genius who never went to college and college graduates who couldn't reason their way out of a wet paper bag and everything between. I think college is the path for most people looking to have more impact. But it's also not the sole criteria for success.
I didn't mean you specifically. There are a lot of non-degreed folk participating just fine in careers surrounded by others who have degrees without anyone knowing any different. It's only when the topic comes up that can see the varied backgrounds of coworkers and it rarely comes up naturally.

Depending on your field you might encounter more than you think. I don't have a college degree and am routinely presenting to C-level execs about ways to fix their failing IT/development projects. We speak the same language. But unless you're reminiscing about life 20+ years ago it rarely comes up.
