I should have a brother named Donnie, but he died about 6 or 7 years before I was born. His birthday is today, so he'd be 67 or 68.

Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion are favorites of mine. I also enjoyed The Fifth Heart.

I disagreed with Dan Simmons politically. Probably disagreed with him on a lot of things. But I loved his writing, and I'm sad he's gone.

Unfortunately, now YouTube thinks I really like baseball.

If I were paranoid, I might think there's a connection between Colbert posting the Talarico interview recently to YouTube, and YouTube being down now.

If the notion is to abandon this place and go to Threads, another Meta platform, I will miss you guys. I will not participate in another Zuckerberg monstrosity, and it makes me sad how many people think financially supporting Zuckerberg is okay.

While everyone expected them to be terrifying and effective, no one expected The Clown Army to be so well equipped.

Coffee is good. Friendship is great. The feeling of accomplishment when you finish a difficult project is amazing.
