I need to dig a bit, but promising in anyway to see a 7M (not B) model destroy some top of the line proprietary models on, even on a small subset of benchmarks. This hint toward scaling is clearly not the only way forward and we need to keep thinking instead of throwing ever more money and compute.

These are extremely small language models that have some impressive capabilities on some reasoning heavy benchmark like ARC-AGI (v1 at least)

And recently (in October) they had a data breach about this very topic (blamed on 3rd party, but still). So yeah, the migration was necessary and is even more justified now. Good luck to everyone who built community there. Never trust American imperialism and neoliberalism.

And for those you have not seen the news about Discord, very quick TLDR: they rolled out forced age verification with ID uploading. The app is forced into a "teenager" mode otherwise. Any server flagged will be inaccessible (think anything NFSW of course, but also LGBT community for example).

TL;DR I would still push for Matrix, but I would love be proven wrong with an FLOSS and federated system that works better :)

XMPP still exist, but good luck converting your normie friends to use something like this.
