Thanks for the mention, Greg! Thatβs so kind of you to say!
Looking at this thread it looks like @kelpat.bsky.social mentioned Dr. Dorsey Armstrong already. She was my Arthurian guest!

Scott wrote this in his diary, "The POLE. Yes, but under very different circumstances from those expected. Great God! This is an awful place and terrible enough for us to have laboured to it without the reward of priority."
It turns out while Scott's team tried to become to the first humans at the South Pole for the British Empire, the Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen had already achieved it a month earlier on December 14th, 1911.
On this day in 1912, the British explorer Captain Robert Falcon Scott (far left) arrived at the South Pole with his team...only to find this flag already there.

This morning is working on the first BOATS episode of 2026, a re-recording and remastering of one of my favorite episodes.
Oops, got an extra "to" in there... π
Updated to macOS to Tahoe 26.2 and it feels like I'm running Windows Vista again.
If 2025 was the year of β6, 7β and adjusting for inflation in the new year, does that mean 2026 will be the year of β7, 11β?
Put into perspective, college football coaches are basically teachers. Can you imagine if there was all this media buzz around where Ole Missβ history professor is going to sign their next multi-million dollar contract?

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! The history of today is long and complicated, but I tried to summarize it over on Facebook (which allows for longer posts)

Don Bluth and Gary Goldman are such a powerful animation team! It's obviously not historically accurate, but I'm such a big fan of Bluth and Goldman's work that I had to cover it on my historical podcast: www.basedonatruestorypodcast.com/94-anastasia/
On this day in 1963, President John F. Kennedy was fatally shot on this day as his motorcade drove through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas.

First time using Lightroom Classic's new Assisted Culling feature. It has promise, but IMO it's in the wrong part of the workflow. I prefer to import everything and use the built-in Picks feature instead of only importing the picks. Seems like they're fighting their own workflow with that...
There's a new Robin Hood series with Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Two thoughts:
1) Casting Sean Bean means the Sheriff must die at some point
2) I need to watch this show to find out how
Dick Cheney passed away today.
If you want to learn more about his life and political career, check out this episode on the movie about him called "Vice" with @wcooperbooks.bsky.social

Happy Halloween!
Today is the 144th anniversary of perhaps the most famous ~30 seconds in the history of the American Old West: The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
If you want to learn more about the true story, I've covered the movie "Tombstone" from three different angles: www.basedonatruestorypodcast.com/tombstone
For context, I have the gamecast for World Series game 1 in another monitor...randomly, that page decides to play some NBA clips. I've had constant issues when I go to ESPN on my phone it stops the podcast I'm listening for no reason other than to play their own ad audio. It's so annoying.
@espn.com's website is the new MySpace that randomly pops up sounds and videos that aren't related to anything and are only a distraction
What a game, well played Brewers! #NLDS
With a new episode releasing today, I decided to try a YouTube premiere for the first time. No advanced notice and it's an audio-only episode...but if you want to throw it on in the background while you work, here's the link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU1G...
Sounds like a pass for me, then. Thank you for taking one for the team
I don't know if this makes me want to watch it less or even more π
Good to the last drop?
