If someone says “antisemitism is bad” - like op did, the appropriate response is “I agree.”

If someone responds to “antisemitism is bad” with “Antizionism isn’t antisemitism,” then they 1) don’t agree antisemitism is bad AND

Another synagogue attack.

This is not to say Israel does not have an influence, of course. But it's influence based in shared interests, shared militarism, shared racism, etc.

But Israel does not CONTROL America. America has no problem bombing brown people without Israel or anyone else.

My take on why many (white) progressives say that Israel is making the US go to war is that they would very much prefer that to be the case than to have to examine their own culpability and participation in America's white supremacist militaristic reality.

Literally minutes after I posted this thread. “Dual loyalty” is a hallmark antisemitic conspiracy theory.

I have also seen quite a few people looking for reasons to blame the Jews of the temple for the attack. To literally go out and search to find out if they were good Jews or bad Jews. Saying they chose to go to that temple so it’s their own fault.
