I found my long forgotten Pokémon card collection, along with several Beanie Baby cards, in a Delia’s bag today. I feel like a walking stereotype.
I was her first call to share the news with. I cannot even begin to explain how much trust and love that takes a kid, who has her lived experiences, to show an adult. But I’m beyond grateful I’m one of her people.
One of my kids called me, from the courthouse, to tell me her guardianship request (who she wants to live with) had been granted, and when I tell you it took all of my willpower not to cry…
