I understand the fear, but I follow several candidates who are here, and I don't see that happening much - the trolls do not seem to find them. If anything, the problem is low engagement for candidate posts, but still - this is a place where I would get to know the candidates better if they posted

I just can't understand why so few of the Dem candidates running for Congress right now have Bluesky accounts. Even having a staffer cross-post something here once a week would be better than nothing. And if they want to win over moderates/independents, why aren't they active on LinkedIn? Smh

This book has a terrific chapter on the longstanding petty personal feud between FDR and Humphreys. Fun fact: Humphreys refused to resign, and then unexpectedly died in his sleep at age 57. The autopsy report I found online (?!) listed the cause of death as "natural causes." At age 57, not sick. 🤔

I agree that the legal system could have worked fine without them (Congress would have had to write more detailed statutes or use the legislative veto more) but decisions by a group with staggered terms and bipartisan representation is kinda genius.
I miss some but my bingo card still needs one for a guy who renounced his citizenship. (Although maybe some AUSA will try to enforce it against a "sovereign citizen" fanatic)

I still get Wendy's chili two or three times a month, and they still ask me if I want cheese and onions added. But the cheese is just a shredded cheddar. And they give you these packets of special chili hot sauce and the hot sauce is *clear* like corn syrup. Love it!
I definitely remember the ambrosia salad. Let's just say the quality deteriorates when it sits out all day
