I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

Funny enough i know two things that Concord and Highguard have in common- some of the best in the world hard surface concept artists on weapon design. Makes me sad that there is no way to shoot Concord guns rn. i hope someone will make custom servers/client.
Request done! Thank you!! π
I heard streamers like Shroud and @cohhcarnage.bsky.social say that the Trials in ARC Raiders have design problems.
This made me very curious, so I went to find out why.
This took me on a journey from the core game design of ARC, down to the store algorithm on Steam www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v-L...
.. that its painful to look back. like actually finding working command to disable halfres ssgi, or figuring out the way to update things in right order in a tick to make my weird unique things work perfectly. performance is still projected to be very good.
.. feels very good, i accidentally made bots aim and reaction super fun to play against, but overall ai still sucks ass, i have a plan but its gonna be a lot of work. mostly its made from scratch. might show something publicly in 6-12 months, hopefully. and i fixed so many things ..
so end of the 6 months i gave to myself to see where my gamedev is going.
its going very good. prototype feedback 2 months ago was good enough. just finishing most of the core tech. i burn through my savings at a good slow pace, probably can work for 6 more months. so far shooting and moving ..

spent 5 hours fixing a bug that should not happen, only to find the fix that should not work
Update on this 6 weeks later: ditching streaming services completely and switching to buying albums on bandcamp has completely refreshed my engagement with and appreciation of music. Owning music is nice, streaming it makes you treat it like slop, and I feel daft for not doing this years ago.

Another weekend, another couple hours on my bunny project.
Lucky's now drifting about and she vanishes when certain actions happen or if she's too far away. She comes back a few seconds later. She also vanishes if she's in the way of the camera during combat.

designed the custom case/cover for that beauty, and the keycaps as well.
UPDATE: Ubisoft Montreal team lead David Michaud-Cromp has been terminated by Ubisoft less than a week after being suspended without pay for publicly commenting on the company's return-to-office mandate.
Steeling a little time this evening to try animating her.

-when designing pants you should spend twice more time to design it with a built in toilet because what if another designer on your team will accidentally present it as a toilet pants.
