A dusty plastic shelf in a dimly lit room with wood-panelled walls and exposed ducts. On the shelf is a rusty antique postal scale, the neck of a lamp and a cheap compact Curtis DVD player under a tea towel.
The next shelf down contains a 13" XL-100 RCA television, on which is displayed a scene from an episode of WKRP in Cincinnati. Dr Johnny Fever at left leans on a grand piano topped with a vase of flowers. On the right is an old flame of his from California who he thinks is about to offer him a night of passion. She has very different reasons for being there!
Behind them is a picture window displaying the magnificent Cincinnati skyline, under a black starry sky.
I have confirmed the emergency physical media / non-internet bunker entertainment centre is functional. Johnny just stood up Bailey, though more out of forgetfulness than malice. This is a two partner!

Dystopian, pardon me. Unless "dystopican" is a neologism for "dystopic Canlit" or something.

And now I am getting into them again, suddenly.
Into the hidden caverns
Into the sunken hills
Unplug the world and follow us inside

Kehza the coffeefox? I do! He was from Winnipeg, I believe. It is possible he's just GAFIAted, as the SF folk used to say. I know someone who was in Winnipeg fandom for several years, they might know more.

I could probably wallpaper a large room with Popular Mechanics covers trumpeting the return of airships. And then the rest of the house with their flying car covers.

This is the big reveal in the 1933 movie "I Cover The Waterfront." Well, smuggling undocumented immigrants inside sharks anyway. Claudette Colbert also goes skinny dipping and gets collared and strapped to a St Andrews Cross because pre-code movies went hard.

Or maybe you are just thinking of the band's uneven but periodically brilliant collaboration with Sparks, called "Franz Ferdinand Sparks" or "FFS."

My fave are the US ones that read "Injure/kill Road Worker? $5000" but the workers always seem to be hiding and I don't know if Canadians can collect the prize.

A foggy night. A large bridge building is shrouded in fog, yellow and white lights flare through the mist. Bare trees and some cars and house fronts and other urban residential Canadian things.
It's a Silent Hill night by the Mousehold.

Also, both SK and Sweden have guaranteed they would support local production, whereas the F35s would have to get sent to the US for updates and a lot of maintenance.

One of the things we're realizing in Canada is that the only opponent we'd need F-35s to fight is the USAF itself. Russia? China? Middle East? Sure, Gripens or (better yet) KF-21s are more than adequate.

The Agat is really the most durable and useful small camera I have. Set the ISO and the lighting and it has a range of preset shutter settings that work fine. Now much bigger a two packs of playing cards glued together.
