Even when I was still Catholic I can't remember ever going to Church (quintessential Bad Catholic ™️) but I can still remember being a kid and getting told things like "You're a Catholic? I thought you were a Christian!" Definitely felt like a "we don't serve your kind" in all but name.
I was never a *good* Catholic, but it was still part of my identity until my father became a domestic abuser. Suddenly the idea of an eternal father figure who determined my fate was untenable.
If I hadn't stopped believing I probably would have snapped. Not a great time in my life.

Yeah, look, despite being an ultranerd myself, wrestling is something I've never really understood the appeal of personally. But I have nothing against it either, and am aware enough not to repeat tired objections about it's "reality" that sound at home in a bad stand-up set. Just let folks enjoy it

Yeah, Frieren is definitely more in the vein of slow burn existentialist shows like Kino's Journey or Girl's Last Tour. It's why *I* like it so much, but it's also why I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea.
In my experience, the people who complain the most about "hand holding" are also the sorts of people who go completely ballistic if their cheap min-max munchkin strats get changed. They care more about *breaking* game than playing them. It's very tiresome.

I'm not really the type to find whole games sad very often. Usually horror games: Silent Hill 2's Remake and Detention both stick out as being very effectively melancholy.
But for a non-horror experience I'd go with Papers, Please. It presents a lot of tragedy in a very muted, sad way.

People have been saying this my whole life, mostly because it's easier than admitting when their favorite 2D studio makes a bad project. Happens with anime too.

I wonder if the Crimson Butterfly remake will offer new, less depressing endings. I think sensibilities have changed a bit since it originally came out.🤔
The trophies and challenges can be surprisingly grindy, there's not much in the way of depth to the combat, and it's overall not that challenging.
Perfect for a first timer to the genre of for a fun little treat for a day, but not going to displace the likes of Streets of Rage.
Alright, think I'll put an end to another game I've been playing: TMNT:Shredder's Revenge.
It's a fun little beat'em up that really captures the 80s series and the old arcade games really well, and is really fun to play for the first time.
But it doesn't have a lot of genuine staying power. /1

In other news, my time with #Hitman has continued. This Suit Only Silent Assassin in Thailand is probably my proudest accomplishment so far. Took a lot of time and thrown fire extinguishers. 🧯
It's nice to purely sneak around instead of snipping from disguise to disguise looking for a screwdriver. 🪛
