A few months ago I built a surveillance tool to track ICE activities - pretty unused rn because Reddit has totally blocked the realtimefascism domain and HN doesn't like 'political' things.

it's based on the amount of articles that include 'fascist' actions - and the 81% is the average of the three peaks in the selected timeframe. There hasn't been any new peaks in a while, except last week had one that was close. It's an inherently flawed calculation, but its the best I could think of

On June 12th, the system flagged 61 articles that mentioned the arrest of Senator Alex Padilla and the use of the national guard in Los Angeles. This incident pushed the number of flagged articles up by 3%.

The way the current calculation works - it counts the amount of articles classified each day and it takes the average of the 3 highest days and that determines the threat.
The system depends on media outlets reporting - which isn't a perfect system, but the best we can do for now : )

The system flagged 60 articles on the 18th—most tied to ongoing deportations—which pushed the needle up about 3%.

There are no articles about him, he's a political commentator which wouldn't show up on the site. The site only classifies articles that mention direct actions / impacts that the current administration is doing. And people closely tied in with them

Few changes just went out -

Will also feature articles that don’t have a high enough confidence score for the 14 step main view (>75% confidence score) and I this removes that. So if you see more articles here, that’s why.
