Search index updates have been resumed - please note that it may take several hours for this data to catch up.

The search functionality itself (including Special:Search, search bar completion suggestions, and the API) will remain available throughout the maintenance, albeit stale data (from before the maintenance began) may be served.

Please note, this update DOES require a service interruption, namely while your wiki is upgrading you will not be able to upload files (estimated 15min-2hr on most wikis, possibly longer for the couple wikis with the most files on our platform).

- In general our speed to render files and pages should go up a bit
- PDF uploads will be enabled on all wikis
- Soon after, apng support will also be added (not immediate after upgrade but this upgrade is a requirement for that to happen)

(Individual wikis can request further increases to video/audio (or any) file size as needed, in an effort to encourage archiving over embedding YouTube videos. These requests will be approved on a case-by-case basis.)

We are starting an update to improve our file-hosting capability. This update will provide the following:

- Animated webp support
- Upload limit for all files on all wikis will be increased from 10MB to 15MB
- Upload limit for video and audio files on all wikis will be increased from 10MB to 35MB

We've updated our firewall rules out of necessity to combat an ongoing rogue AI crawler wave. Although we try to minimize the impact on users, this may still cause some traffic to be flagged incorrectly. You can tell this happened if you're repeatedly prompted for a CAPTCHA in quick succession.
