Coming to the school run soon..🙄Another totally unsuitable car for the UK roads..www.clivesutton.co.uk/vehicles/20073561-cadill...
Reported two drivers for driving on the pavement along Boleyn Road, Frankley, Birmingham in the past few weeks, to avoid the flooding. This is the result of ignoring road closed signs. Both verges ruined and pavements slippy to walk along.. #birmingham #frankley #northfield
With criminality this serious ending in death, what other crime would escape national news? This was only BBC local. What more must happen for a lifetime ban? Driving is a privilege, not a right. Our culture — and sentencing — needs radical change.

Morning drivers, as you head to work this week, please use your speed limiter. It improves your safety and has a calming effect on surrounding traffic, reducing the impact of the irresponsible. In UK, over 15 people a week die in speed-related crashes. Guidance attached:

Germany shifts over 2 million e-bikes every year. France: over 500,000.
Britain? It will be lucky to get to 150,000. Why?
Because people need to feel safe to cycle, and that requires serious and sustained government support, which has not been forthcoming.

A speeding driver killed my parents - there needs to be a cultural change www.bbc.com/news/article...
I feel for her, but asking nicely will not work.
What's needed is enforcement, and stiffer penalties to tackle speeding and dangerous drivers before they kill. Mandatory black boxes linked to insurance may help too.

This is disgraceful needs a big fork lift thing to tip their vehicles over or tow truck ride to crusher. One near station and one on Broad St should send the message.
Car driving on the pavement in Birmingham
Saw this earlier today. Untaxed, on phone, driving along the pavement, no seatbelt. #Birmingham 🫣 Reported to WMP for all of the above..
A car with a roof rack with LiDAR machines and the words "HANDHAVING" and "Gemeente Utrecht" on it. All of inner Utrecht has only paid parking in effect every day from 9AM to 8PM. Paid parking is expanding to all of the city by 2035. The city has plenty of bus and bike options, and discounts for annual residential passes.
Utrecht has a fleet of ~6 of these cars topped with LiDAR. They circle Utrecht making images of parked cars throughout the day.
Since people don't always follow parking rules, Utrecht earns €50-100K a day. All that € goes into street improvements.
All it takes is cars with license plates (+ LiDAR)
What a brilliant thread.
The evidence in favour of 20 mph speed limits is overwhelming, cheaper insurance, less emissions, less car crashes, it saves the NHS, Police and councils money. But Gary from Port Talbot's commute now takes 42 minutes instead of 40 so it simply must go.
This past weekend Londoners got a glimpse of the future of Oxford Street as it went traffic-free for the day.
Here’s what they thought ⬇️
This shouldn’t be hard. Or rare.
But well done all the same.
Just another "Normal" end of school day pickup @uobschool Selly Oak, Birmingham. I reported two for parking on the zig zags on the pedestrian crossing..There is plenty of legal parking 100yds further down the road....
This is what happens now the transition from news source to clickbait website is complete. Reach have turned the local media into a revenue generation scheme, good for shareholders but they don't serve the local communities anymore. Here's the latest.. www.holdthefrontpage.co.uk/2025/news/mo...
Looks like April's West Midlands Police OP Snap results have finally seen the light of day. Quite worrying is the amount of outside 14 days NIP, would that be due to the understaffing of OP Snap? Some of my submissions have been classed as NFA/14 days www.westmidlands.police.uk/contentasset...
Driver gets out of car to argue with cyclist, Broome near Stourbridge
Nice helpful driver yesterday stopped to tell me exactly how much space he gave me when overtaking, not sure that is 1.5M. I can, with confidence, report you for a close pass. (West Mercia Police are taking action against the driver.)
Last week, I had the chance to listen in on a conversation between @who.int and the Mayor of Paris, @annehidalgo.bsky.social.
Here are five things other cities could learn (with a bonus bit on the increasing powers of UK Mayors):

Slight detour..Joy Division tour, Macclesfield 👍
“Initially, I told Mr Barton that if he paid £10,000 total and deleted the tweets, I’d forget the whole thing. It was him, not me, who decided to take the long road”
Overtake round a blind bend and West Mercia Police reply with "On this occasion we have been unable to process your submission because we saw no evidence of careless driving." Just thankful I wasn't coming in the opposite direction.. @roadcc.bsky.social
And a real shame they didn't interview any car drivers...
It wasn't great. Ben Godfrey didn't give the Mayor a chance to answer properly and they really didn't hold politicians to account. What was the Khalid Mahmood clip meant to be about? Also, his stupid comment on not wearing a helmet..well draw your own conclusions. Was Ben trying to be Nick Ferrari?
