Some games of note for some demos I've played from Steam Next Fest so far. Not saying they will be amazing, but they intrigued me the most from playing them.

Armatus kinda feels like a cross between Remnant and Hades, great responsive controls and the power-ups have all felt decently impactful so far. I'm liking this one!

Armatus feels like the tender lovechild of Doom, Dark Souls, and Hades and there's so much I could say, but I think the best way to put it is an accessible Souls-lite. It has a welcoming learning curve without being too hand hold-y, immaculate ambiance, and great skill synergies-

So one of the stand outs last night checking out my list for Next Fest was Armatus from @counterplaygames.bsky.social .
Think if Remnant From The Ashes was more Rogue-Like than Souls Like. Rooms are just challenging anough and the gunplay was solid.
Looking forward to the full release.

[Steam Next Fest] Hands-On: “Armatus” promises a darkened, kinetic shooter experience for the roguelite landscape We're not particularly starving for roguelites. Now a favorite of indie developers the world over for around a decade, it takes a lot for a new one to stand out among the crowd in gameplay, but also in art style. The ones I usually play tend to be on the brighter, sillier side with levity or at least a sense of humor to balance out the drama a la both Hades games. Armatus dares to be a little different with a dark, apocalyptic take for the setting while retaining a gameplay loop that makes genre fans ravenous.

We went hands-on with Armatus before its Steam Next Fest debut.

"The true, undeniable hook is definitely the action. If you appreciate rock-solid shooter gameplay and the heightened, adrenal pace within that ilk like the DOOM reboots, it's absolutely worth a try."

Gang, if you like Returnal and Hades, you must give this game a try. I didn't know this game existed until a few days ago and even though it's just a demo, I could not stop playing this. Gameplay is fun, the weapons are fun and the synergy is fun.
