Not only to validate what it has written (which is important obviously) but also to learn what it has done and to don't grow out of touch with your own project. Just my little rant and of course this is all my opinion
The main problem is that people who barely now how to code are using AI to generate code and don't understand what the AI is generating. It's crucial that you work TOGETHER with your AI code generator and examine EVERY line of code that it produces.
and don't want to have or use any AI generated code at all. I think that's unfortunate. I use AI code generation a lot these days and it really helps if you USE THE TOOL WELL! In capitals because that's crucial. AI is a tool, in the right hands it can do amazing things.
So I see a lot of criticism lately on people using AI to code. That's because a lot of low quality code is being produced by this and this causes low quality mods and other software. A consequence of this is that people are considering AI to be all bad for code
