The same survey found that a slim majority of Americans (53%) agree it is likely that Trump broke the law to try to stay in power after losing the 2020 election.
PRRI's 2024 American Values Survey found that less than one-third of Americans (31%) agree that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, while two-thirds disagree (67%). The sentiment has remained stable since March 2021, when the question was first asked.

At the state level, Christian nationalist views predominate in the South and Midwest, and new analysis demonstrates a strong relationship between the spread of Christian nationalist ideology and Republican representation in state legislatures
White Americans who attend religious services, pray, or read the Bible or other religious texts frequently are more likely than their Black and Hispanic counterparts to qualify as Christian nationalism Adherents and Sympathizers.
Based on interviews with more than 22,000 adults, the 2025 PRRI American Values Atlas finds that support for Christian nationalism is positively correlated with frequent religious behaviors: 56% of Christians who attend religious services weekly or more qualify as Christian nationalism supporters
NEW: A majority of Republicans (56%) qualify as either Christian nationalism Adherents or Sympathizers, compared with 1 in 4 independents (25%) and less than 1 in 5 Democrats (17%), according to PRRI's latest report "Mapping Christian Nationalism Across the 50 States."
