“The wise warrior avoids the battle.” -famously dumb, politically correct non-warrior Sun Tzu
I’d start etching current events onto sheets of gold and filing them in a pure titanium box, filling it with nitrogen and welding it shut when it’s full, and carving “FOR STARFLEET” into the top before burying it, but I’m not sure how to tell the future where it is without also telling the present.
Granted it was also preceded by the Eugenics Wars and Civil War II, but they also consider the early 21st century to be a Dark Age because we stored all information in impermanent, proprietary formats so they can’t recover most of it, so maybe they actually overlap.
In Star Trek, WWIII started in 2026 and lasted 27 years, ending in full scale nuclear war and the death of 30% of humanity.
I think they might have better luck spending two thousand dollars holding a press conference where they detail who made the key decisions to collaborate with the Trump administration, how and when they were fired, and explaining what would stop that from happening again.

Why in the world would Messi go to the White House? Did he think this through?
Cool Spot and Jazz Jackrabbit were legitimately good games for some reason.
Also, even if this was TikTok, I question his choice to make it about not celebrating. His conclusion would have still worked if he’d said great job, celebrate this win and let it fuel you to keep up the pressure and do the same to the rest. But for some reason he tried to tamp down the energy.
That’s the thing about video on a text-based app, many if not most people won’t stop to watch it so the intro text has to convey the thesis. Text is the primary content here so you have to make that the core message. And that’s what he picked! Which I take to mean it’s what he thinks is important.
When Firefly was new and the nerds loved it I got trolled super hard for scornfully dismissing it as a pro-Confederate story that portrayed women as either helpless and in need of a man or fierce warriors who, deep down, were helpless and needed a man. I was told it was actually feminist.
Ha ha.
“…rather than spend energy celebrating this Trump setback, let's recognize that…” is a polished version of the replies I get every time I show any joy about anything bad happening to anyone in this administration.
i cannot stress enough that if you know anything about how kristi noem found out she was fired you must tell me
What does that have to do with my post?
Oh god, he’s pandering to the “Everyone stop celebrating a win and go back to feeling the icy breath of doom on their neck this instant! Just because a bad person got humiliated doesn’t mean you get to feel a glimmer of joy!” crowd that I’ve mostly blocked.
I don’t much like post-brain damage Fetterman. I liked pre-brain damage Fetterman, but post- isn’t good.
Democrats may not be able to prevent Mullin's confirmation, but they can certainly turn his track record of offense and stupidity into two days of televised humiliation so spectacular that he is wounded in Trump's eyes from day 1. That is the job.
SCOOP: Proton Mail provided Swiss authorities with payment data that the FBI then used to determine who was allegedly behind an anonymous account affiliated with the Stop Cop City movement in Atlanta, according to a court record reviewed by 404 Media.
Just in: “[Lurie] probably doesn’t want me to talk about it a lot,” said ousted DHS secretary Kristi Noem at a big city police conference in Tennessee on Thursday. “He has been cooperative, we have great conversations and we talk quite often.”
They did it. They finally did it. They invented a gross food that I don’t want to try out of morbid curiosity.
Reeks of weeds.
Corey Lewandowski to begin affair with Markwayne Mullin
Ok, I’ll specify: For the love of god, Democrats, nobody vote for him for once.
If you're at the airport and Kristi Noem is doing the ominous little message from the TSA screens, you no longer have to do anything she says. Leave your laptop in the case, whatever.
