Thanks for flagging - is this consistent with every restart?

You can use a Private Tab for that?
The questions people are asking seem valid and Mozilla have some expensive lawyers on retainer (ask me how I know) that they should probably be querying with before responding anymoreβ¦
I see - this does seem like more of a legal question and one I canβt really weigh in on unless thereβs a specific opinion someone is after here?
Not until you pointed it out to me, but Jake's comment on it seems appropriate and measured to me; is there anything particularly worrying?

Have submitted a request to Google to be put on the whitelist to allow access to devices such as Yubikey
Waterfox for Android 1.2 has now been submitted to the Play Store for review! A lot of under-the-hood changes that took quite a bit of effort. Separately, APKs are also available from the GitHub release page π

@waterfox.net switched from @firefox.com because of the AI stuff and tracking in firefox, and waterfox is so much better, it feels like debloated firefox
amazing browser
macOS 26.3 just dropped and with it, Appleβs iCloud Passwords extension now works with Waterfox!
What website is this?
A short interview with me:

Any blockers you've faced? I don't see any technical reason localhost addresses wouldn't work if you go to Settings > Search > Search shortcuts > Add
Hey @theregister.com! Vivaldi are great, but we also committed to this last year and weβre open source too :)
This is why I drew a line in the sand.
The industry wants to turn the browser into a concierge between you and the web, interpreting and filtering your reality. They call it delegation - I call it a loss of agency.
A browser should be a tool you wield, not something that makes decisions for you.
You can go to setting > look and feel to customise how the browser looks including rounded tabs
Are you on mobile? Just noticed that the pricing header is hidden in small viewports! Iβll get that fixed
Waterfox 6.6.8 is out: manually unload tabs from the tab menu, passkeys on macOS, JPEG XL improvements and Windows builds now include the required VS redist files for easier fresh system installs π

A huge thanks to all of Waterfox's users and those who believe in it. Here's to 2026, our biggest year yet!
Waterfox Private Search (search.waterfox.net) also launched as a new funding stream, to make sure we aren't as reliant on 3rd parties, while still fulfilling the privacy mission.
172 of you also directly donated to Waterfox. I appreciate every one from the smallest to the largest π€
Card with graphics that says > 105 billion encrypted and anonymised DNS requests
2025 was a big year for Waterfox!
Waterfox encrypted and anonymised over 105 billion DNS requests as part of our free Oblivious DNS service - that's an average of ~3,300 requests a second - with peaks of over 6,000 R/s!
Ok, here's my update after just 30 minutes.
I'm a person who values:
- control.
- privacy.
- a browser being a browser.
I don't need my browser to make me toast and coffee in the morning, suggest things to me, build my ego, or anything else.
So, @waterfox.net and I are going to get along great.
Thatβs right - Firefox generates at a minimum two profiles, one of which is empty. I should probably change the installer to skip over the empty one π
Yes, after installing, during the onboarding thereβs an option to import from your various Firefox profiles
Are there any other profiles? Or is that the only one listed?
Yes, works out of the box
Waterfox 6.6.7 is now rolling out to all users π
