Rosenberg also expressed his opinion that Canada should compare its currency to New Zealand and Australia's, instead of the American dollar.
Relative to NZD and AUD, the Canadian dollar has dropped more than four percent in the last two months.
Canada's trade relationships are changing and uncertain. Rosenberg says that until recently, there was hope for the Canada-U.S. relationship to improve.
"Well, of course, we’re going to throw that in the waste paper basket right now,” he told BNN Bloomberg in an interview.
