Any new industry musk wades into gets its "1000 poorly-batched RPCs" moment www.reddit.com/r/ATC/s/nZxo...
@plex.tv please reconsider removing the watch together feature from your native apps. Your web app is not a substitute as there are formats which some browsers/platforms cannot direct play but which your native apps can.
This will stop me from watching some shows with friends
Congrats @mattvagni.bsky.social @simonrohrbach.bsky.social !
A reminder of what Musk did to Twitter and an explanation of what he's doing to the US government. It's the same autocratic gameplan: slash, purge, break things.
podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/e...
When Musk bought Twitter, there were offers of paid exits, code reviews, eliminating of diversity programs, cutting of rent payments, and a reliance on staffers from his companies to enact his plans.
All of that is playing out now in DC. Twitter was a blueprint.

As someone who went through an eerily similar episode of hostile takeover that also played out in public in real time, I want to tell all the fed workers, βIβm so sorry this is happening to you, I know how this feels.β And here are some of my learnings:
The classic tweet: Well, I'd like to see ol Donny Trump wriggle his way out of THIS jam! *Trump wriggles his way out of the jam easily* Ah! Well. Nevertheless,
π¨New episode outπ¨ Can we call it fascism yet? @dorianlynskey.bsky.social and @iandunt.bsky.social respond to the disturbing displays at Trump's inauguration and the many similarities with fascist parties of the past.

Just a warning about Casper mattresses: they do NOT hold up. Iβve had mine for just a couple of years and it was doing fine, but recently got into a Little Nemo-type situation and the bed broke up over the North Atlantic. Ended up needing a Coast Guard rescue and they laughed at my big nightshirt
I understand that some people still (for now) need X for bare bones promotional stuff but it's deeply embarrassing to see anyone I know posting there for fun
Free Our Feeds! What is it! @freeourfeeds.com
F.O.F. is an independent group with the goal of running THISπ social network totally outside of Bluesky.
It's not us. It's a fully independent version of the network. All the same users and posts. Running cooperatively with us and others.
Seems like a bloke who a lot of people pin their hopes on!
He's not someone I was ever exposed to, and for your sake I hope nobody else did either.
It's Pratchett that would truly break me. If anything ever came out about him I'd lose all hope I think.
David Attenborough would be a big one for me. Completely unsurprising. I wouldn't feel a thing if I found out. He's too old! Just statistically speaking he's had so much time to be around women, and you're telling me he's not been awful to at least one of them?
Which celebrity would you be just completely unsurprised if they turned out to be a shit man?
Someone on Twitter writes: "Unfortunately die work wear or whatever is a psyop to turn men into women . Cuz why the hell else would he be telling them to dress that gay"
The year is 2035. I meet President AOC in the Oval Office. "You've done well," she says. "By telling men to dress gay, you've lowered the population rate by 90%, thereby reducing carbon emissions." She slides me a manilla envelope. I can now afford a home in a walkable neighborhood
For no specific reason at all today I'm recommending you listen to an old ep of @originstorypodcast.bsky.social about the origins of the word "woke"

paul graham has finally achieved what most thought impossible: he's written a post so bad that the hacker news comments are actually better than it
Just saw Midsummer Nightβs Dream at the Barbican and itβs an absolute hoot. Perfectly done, the kids were rapt from start to finish and loads of proper laughs. Apparently tickets are βfromβ Β£25; we paid more than that to sit in the upper circle, but thatβs still a great view. Ends 18th Jan.
I'm pretty sure I could find a way to pass out
I almost fainted the one time I did it and they banned me from doing it again!
We need an ex-Tweep starter pack π
The more things change, the more they stay the same
Sorry to do this all the time but I am afraid to make stuff these days you have to be a shameless self promoter β I have started a new show and it is out now, and there are bonus eps and whatnot you can sign up for. So if you can listen to it, thatβd be amazing.
Does "engage" include blocking?
