As opposed to when I was buying gear in the 90s, when the goal was always technical improvement. Better sounds, more voices, more I/O options.

I don’t think it necessarily sounds better, but damn is it fun to take it with you anywhere.

The coolest thing about modern music gear is how much of it is portable.

Despite ‘realism’, humans have very narrow bands they will accept for visual cues, particularly for signs of physical ability. Even when it’s stupid, we look for what we are trained to look for.

After the US fascists are dealt with, the USA needs to be treated like Japan post WW2…helped to rebuild, but their military utterly destroyed beyond the National Guard.

I wonder how hard it is to learn to make a (relatively) simple midi controller...been watching videos of "Author & Punisher" and his setup, and HOLY MACHINE GODS would I love some controllers like that.

Weird crossing over of my life - Yesterday, my partner forwarded me an email she got from our Extras agency, looking for someone this Sunday to interact with a prop on a show. That show has its set dec lockup right next to my show's construction dept. Today, I saw the prop in question :D

I suppose I can't say that I am *NOT* lacking in that department, but, after witnessing the emotional coping skills of people on this show....at least I know I'm nowhere near the worst case.

Because of my extreme ADHD and my homeschooling, I've always had this weird fear that I was "emotionally immature". The last 16 years, I've mostly worked from home or fairly isolated, so not a lot of drama to navigate.

After 6 months in this role...I may be immature, but it gets WAY WORSE than me.

Yeah, for my personal work, I use Reaper (which I think has a Linux version) for my DAW, and Blender, which definitely has a Linux version...If/when RAM ever costs less than small apartments and I make a new PC, It'll be Linux.

I'm leery to switch because so much of my professional work is done with the Adobe Suite...and I know *I* can use alternatives, but there's a lot of passing files back and forth....I'm sure I could make it work, but I worry it might be painful.

We voted for him because we essentially HAD to....it was him or the MRA poster-child.

He's Canada's George Bush...he's a CONSERVATIVE, just not a loony tunes one...which is why Conservative MPs keep joining him.
