As the Green brothers have often stressed, hope is materially useful.
(Also, you should read @adapalmer.bsky.social's Terra Ignota series if you haven't--they're amazing!)
If you are working with the Trump administration you are anti-queer and should be shunned. www.erininthemorning.com/p/secdef-heg...
There are a bunch of these that come to mind:
Nancy Pelosi saying we have to pass the ACA to know what's in it. Wildly out of context.
Obama's "you don't build that" line in 2012.
Obama's "cling to guns and religion" line in 2008(? I think?)
Pushing out of context lines is for propagandists.
lol fair
The photo credit is not a member of their staff...is it possible they didn't notice it?
it is apparently the 25th anniversary of the greatest piece of art Denton, Texas, has ever produced
I enjoyed the movie a lot but I feel like they could have cut everything before Lockjaw goes to the hotel to meet those guys. Tonally it felt like a totally different film and they end up re-stating everything that happens during that portion anyhow. But very happy to have seen in theaters!
Thanks from a fellow Hazel :)
Do you have any links to understand βcontest cultureβ? This term is new to me and a Google search didnβt turn up anything obvious.

Everyone in this video sucks, but it clearly was intended as a joke and received as a joke by everyone in the room. The joke was based on a sycophantic premise, but this isnβt what folks are making it out to be.
We bought these some years ago and place them on display every holiday season! Thank you for your lovely art and making the world a bit brighter π
All of you are deliberately mischaracterizing what Sarah Hurwitz was saying about Holocaust education. Do better.

Most bees are solitaryβthey donβt belong to a hive.
I don't know why the "Piggy" thing is bothering me so much. It's one more unforgivable thing in a list of 20,000 unforgivable things, but I've been mad about it for like 12 straight hours.
At least 25% of writing software with other people is asking the question βokay but what are the SEMANTICS of sklirping a frunketβ

It feels crazy to say thank you to a politician for even acknowledging we exist, let alone expressing concrete goals to help us. But. Thank you Big Z
Fuck, man. This is water in a desert.
Thank you, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social. Iβm rooting for you.

1. There's a lot of confusion about this out there. Let me make it easier:
There are two ways to keep the government open: The full FY26 appropriations bill for the entire year, and a continuing resolution to keep it open for a few months at current levels.
Both are part of negotiations right now.
Klein: I think, from your perspective and from my perspective, we probably donβt believe hugely different things. But a huge amount of the country, a majority of the country, believes things about [edit: the jews], about what policy should be toward [edit: the jews], about what language is acceptable to [edit: the jews], that we would see as fundamentally and morally wrong. And what politically β not in a column or something, but politically β should our relationship with those people be? Do we win them over? Do we compromise with them? This feels like a very salient question. The Republican Party is going to make sure this is a relentlessly salient question.
i took a stab at editing ezra kleinβs most recent comments about trans people and electoral politics to make a point often lost by the american liberal commentariat
