Me, halfway through listening to "I Stuck My Weenie In A Bottle, Baby":
Pour one out for everyone currently burning a CD of "Weird Al" comedy music in 2002 that are about to find out that very few of the tracks are actually Weird Al songs but because Weird Al is the only comedy musician anyone knows, he has his name slapped on everything
One cool thing about listening to Weird Al as an adult is that, yeah, he's a great lyricist and a pretty talented singer, but that dude and his team know how to produce an album. Even if I'm not into the particular song, I have to admit that it sounds really good.
I was proud of him! He was moving a lot of weight!
I distinctly remember giggling so hard with friends over this song during a camping trip that one of the scout leaders came to the tent and demanded that we quiet down.
Spotted a guy on a really heavy bench press today and when he made the lift, he got up, hugged me, and told me "since you spotted that much weight for me, we're brothers now" and you know what? Sure. Why not? Love ya, brother.
Awesome! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Starting my #iamthenightclub thread with Animaniacs. I'm convinced that the lyrics of "Yakko's World" occupy an entire lobe of my brain.

Please no one tell him about the first people that always get eaten in Jurassic Park
"Do not forget it, i can remove you from this transaction" goes so hard
I wrote about old rap magazines, the fight for the future of hip hop’s past, and the impact the digital age has had on history, for @defector.com

Bless this man and his dedication to pulled pork
"According to Roy Cooper, barbecue is a holy thing, a way of life, a charismatic, multidimensional food whose consumption (or lack thereof) can make or break one's political fortunes." www.pbs.org/video/govern...
Roy Cooper has a history of supporting public education, expanding access to healthcare, and taking on predatory businesses.
Also, and this is perhaps just as important, he really, really loves BBQ.
Anyway, I look forward to hearing the thoughts of everyone who wants to participate in the #iamthenightclub!
I'll be continuing this thread in a few days with BTAS and "On Leather Wings"
Growing up, I always thought Brain was voiced by Kelsey Grammer. It wasn't until later that I learned that it was Maurice LaMarche doing a fun Orson Welles riff.
And then the first ever appearance of Pinky and the Brain! I still think the characters work far better here as supporting players in an anthology format than as headliners of their own show. But I adore the image of the little mouse head on that big mech suit. Narf, get in the robot, etc.
@wendeego.bsky.social brought this up, but when a character designer on a 90s WB cartoon got the assignment to draw a hot lady, they swung for the fences

The second segment in the episode is "Cookies for Einstein," and while "the Warner siblings meet a famous historical figure" would be a running gag, it helps here that Einstein is also funny and oddly likable and not just flummoxed by his intruders. That's not always be the case.
It's always fun to go back and see A) Just how many musical numbers Animaniacs pumped out, and B) Just how well-produced they are. Guess that happens when you're WB in the '90s and have Spielberg providing quality control.

It's also no surprise that one of the best BTAS promos of all time came from the show's run on Toonami, the undisputed king of hyping a series up

Digimon Adventure: Our War Game turns 25 today. It's a movie that I really love, especially due to how much it feels like a love letter to its own audience and the generation that grew up on the show.
Yep, Monday's was "Heart of Ice." Heck of a way to start the school week.
Thanks, man! I'm glad it sounds better than just "loud."
Batman: The Animated Series certainly had psychological depth, but this Cartoon Network promo makes it look like a full-on nightmare. It's awesome.
