I am certain that the “shoot me in the heart” choice is worse.
Only people whose life experience is limited to the relatively pleasant and who therefore cannot imagine truly evil outcomes would choose it. Their naivety makes them believe they’re quasi-magically protected. They are not.

I think this misses a central point that in the arts, skill mastery gives insights that allow greater creativity in that medium.
The result is that outsourcing the skill piece to an AI will produce artists whose creative horizons are very limited.

When a non artist gives detailed instructions to a skilled AI or a skilled human, the result is illustration/copywriting, not art or a great novel. The distinction between skill and creativity/aesthetic judgement is false. Creativity and judgement are integral parts of artistic skill.

This is the whole game, but people who don’t do creative work often have no experience of this process at all, so it doesn’t even occur to them.
For many people, creative work is mistakenly analogized to industrial production, like making widgets, but with paintings or novels.
