Theoretically, if you are dumb, this makes oil much more available to the West, but in reality it will take years if not decades to upgrade the equipment in Venezuela and in the meantime the price of oil is untenable esp compared to the renewables which were cheaper than oil before the attack.

I have a pet theory that this was part of the plan for the attack on Iran. The attack on Venezuela was for the oil, but companies snubbed it due to the abysmal RoI, it was estimated the price per barrel needed to more than double to make it worth investing in.

I am trying so hard to ditch python 3.6 for java 25 at work. Scripted languages are fun for little projects, but anything worth maintaining should be compiled and strictly typed imo. I have spent 2 years trying to wrangle python enterprise code and every time one fire is put out another one starts.

The "cancel chatgpt" thing really took off with my "anti-ai" friends. They are all discussing the alternatives they can switch to while I am dumbfounded they have been using AI. Is it really that anomalous to not touch it?
