I saw at least 8 of these giant water bugs up out of the water yesterday. This is probably Belostoma flumineum, not the most giant of the giant water bugs. Neat to see this behavior even though I have no idea what they're up to. #aquaticInsects #macro

This guy suddenly started attacking our other cat after a year of peaceful coexistence. We keep having to shut him in my office. I tried to use the tie as punishment/distraction but he is unfazed. He has that same expression without the tie too.

Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.
One of the weirder dialogues since 2016 has been the “is it Fascism or not?” thing. It’s not like categorizing terrible shit activates some secret option to fight the terrible shit. I don’t know what the “technically not Fascism yet” crowd has been waiting for when *pre* Fascism *is* the *crisis*!
