The TYT and Chapo crowd have always been extremely receptive to hearing Protocols of Zion crap.

Not that it matters, but I have traced her ancestry extensively going through multiple generations and centuries. This is not true and appears to simply be echoing false claims made by prominent white supremacist Peter Brimelow.

I don't have words for this. Horrific. Heinous. Disgusting.

Actually, I do have two words for it: war crime.

Screenshot of a Bluesky post by me. I'm reposting someone else's image of a giant painting of a helicopter on the ground with an explosion coming up from it, captioned "Israeli missile hits helicopter shadow decoy".

Google Image Search suggests the only place this image has appeared is on Facebook, Threads and Instagram. There's no source given and no news watermark on the image. I think I fell for a hoax and have deleted it.

Is Iran using decoys to fool enemies? Internet says Israel bombed a helicopter painting Some reports in local Iranian media claimed that Iran has successfully tricked Israeli forces by painting decoys of helicopters on the ground. The Israeli Defence Forces have not responded to the clai...

I may have fallen for a hoax. No other coverage of this seems to be using this particular image -- most of it is about this grainy B&W surveillance video, and the idea that Israel bombed a painting seems to have come mostly from Twitter conspiracy theorists.

If we've been saving daylight all these years, there must be a bunch of it somewhere. We could probably have years of daylight with no nighttime.

I think they might have better luck spending two thousand dollars holding a press conference where they detail who made the key decisions to collaborate with the Trump administration, how and when they were fired, and explaining what would stop that from happening again.

Here is the interesting question I think is worth asking: did Proton challenge this request at all, as their privacy policy says they will? That would be worth digging into more, but 404 doesn't seem to have asked them that question.

I think there is a story here, in that their privacy policy also says "Proton’s general policy is to challenge requests whenever possible and where there are doubts as to the validity of the request or if there is a public interest in doing so." Did they do that here? That's a question worth asking.

5. Data disclosure

We will only disclose the limited user data we possess if we are legally obligated to do so by a binding request coming from the competent Swiss authorities. We may comply with electronically delivered notices only when they are delivered in full compliance with the requirements of Swiss law. Proton’s general policy is to challenge requests whenever possible and where there are doubts as to the validity of the request or if there is a public interest in doing so. In such situations, we will not comply with the request until all legal or other remedies have been exhausted. Under Swiss law, subjects of judicial procedures have to be notified of such procedures, although such notification has to come from the authorities and not from the Company. Under no circumstances can Proton decrypt end-to-end encrypted content and disclose decrypted copies. Aggregate statistics about data requests from the competent Swiss authorities can be found in the transparency reports listed in our products-specific policies.

Proton makes this crystal clear in their privacy policy: their records include the name of the person who is billed for services, and they will provide that to Swiss authorities in response to a legally executed demand. proton.me/legal/privacy

Proton Mail complied with a subpoena legally executed by Swiss authorities. That is exactly what they have always told users they would do in response to legal action. Yet this story frames it as Proton betraying their privacy promise. 404 Media does great work but this is a real misstep.

Trump has now explicitly affirmed the right to choose or veto leaders in Venezuela, Iraq, Iran, Honduras and Argentina, and implicitly Brazil and various European countries.

This is a direct violation of sovereignty and self-determination, which are bedrock foundations of any international order.

I’m reminded that in the 1980s and 1990s it was not unusual for open source software packages to include a licensing clause prohibiting their use by the U.S. military.

Awesome. I was trying to explain this concept to someone but Mina said it better, and with more tact.
