There will be enormous turnover throughout this league in its first few years and possibly beyond if the NWSL doesn't attain sanctioning for a 2nd division. Tampa Bay announced 9 departures after winning the league. The average number of departures is 10+ (maybe higher?).

"League rivals"? Lexington has a billionaire owner willing to paper over the cracks of incompetence and poor attendance. By paper, I of course mean the cash variety. Meanwhile, Kenzie Weinert joined her long term partner who plays for the Lexington SC men's team.

How expansion clubs are approaching the new-look USL ahead of pro-rel, division one Expansion teams are adapting on the fly to keep up with the USL’s ever-loftier goals, but can’t afford to lose sight of the community relevance that keeps lower-league clubs afloat.

It's a new day for expansion teams in the USL, who have to balance building a fanbase with the expectations of D1 and pro-rel. How are they going about it?

The Seattle Sounders owner effectively telling the players off for wearing the "Club World Cash Grab" t-shirts (seeking fair pay from Club World Cup participation) is pretty bad, and shows why the players are protesting in the first place.

Last June, Velocity played a friendly vs. Chivas U23 team and it made for some of the best memories I have of pro soccer so far in Spokane. A couple weeks later, my in-laws Michael and Vanessa found out they were expecting a baby. The baby's nickname, of course, became Chiva.
