There is a video out this morning showing ICE agents wrestling a man onto the ground in Minneapolis and then shooting him. I counted twelve shots.
It looks like two ICE agents fired at the man. He was wrestled to the ground and beaten by approximately 6 ICE agents before being shot.
Initial report is that two observers got into a shoving match with eight agents, one observer was wrestled to the ground, and then an ICE agent pulled out a sidearm and shot the man on the ground five times.
The people who organize and plan and spend an insane amount of time coordinating thousands and thousands of community members, giving them direction, keeping them informed, are truly awe inspiring.
People have been stepping up up like we’ve never seen before. It’s tragic but also inspiring.
We have citizen patrols checking empty cars like this for children and animals that were left behind in the negative temps because that’s where we are at as a society.
We live in a diverse suburb of Minneapolis and attendance in my child’s elementary school is down over 25% according to the principal. Parents are taking shifts patrolling outside the schools to protect children and families from ICE. This should never have to happen. Disgusting.
