Really YouTube?
Do you know the worst thing, the new app? ITS THE OLD APP I HAD INSTALLED ALREADY WITH A DIFFERENT NAME
So updated my rode mixer app today only for it to open and say "Your product doesn't work with this app, please download a new different app."
SURELY JUST DOWNLOAD THAT AS THE INITIAL UPDATE INSTEAD YOU KNOW WHAT PRODUCT I HAVE?!?
Now I'm not saying it's totally perfect, everything has its tropes; even the best shows do. But honestly I've not seen a drama as impactful as a tastefully and creatively done in a long time.
It's not a medical show that happens to be dramatic, it's true drama that happens to be set in a hospital
Also watching in the way I did (mostly as a straight binge) felt really genuine to the overall motives of the show. The pressure is always on the shows cast, moving rapidly from case to case to case with very little time for reprieve - and you feel that too as a binge watcher of the show
Between the stylistic choice to make each episode an almost realtime hour of the same ER shift; the characters felt realistically crafted, from what Ive read the medicine was sound, and it didn't shy away from being politically critical in a way that spoke from a professional voice.
I don't often cry at media but I physically had to pause sometimes just to catch my breath, something those (believable) characters don't have a chance to do until the end of the series.
MORE of this and MORE shows to be bold enough to be this realistic, but would be comfortable with it as is
So this Weekend / Yesterday I binged watched "The Pitt". I'm a big fan of medical dramas full stop but the Pitt might be one of the most carefully crafted and dare I say (with no professional medical knowledge but a boat load of acting knowledge) realistic depictions of the medical care system ever
PINK PORTAL HOUSE! IMMMAA KEEP ON MINING AT THE PINK PORTAL HOUSE!
KCD2 plays so well on the Steam Deck
I think we should normalize the ability to get official heraldry made too
Streamers who multistream:
Ive just noticed YouTube has shortened LOADS of my streams - does anyone have a good idea as to why this might of occurred? Side by side with Twitch as to the og sizes
For reference these streams were multistreamed using the
Aitum plugin for OBS
live with more Kingdom Come! โช๏ธ Midgeman.tv
I've got one already!
It's adorable. This cat keeps visiting our house and I just want to be his friend with that little heart
Just heard a knock at my window... I'm on the second floor
This is not my cat
My Premiere Pro just auto transcribed "Audentes Fortuna iuvat" as "Oh Dentist! Fucking you Fat!" and now I can't unhear that as what Henry thinks Hans is saying...

I totally agree, and sadly I think its a continued decline for Twitch - they can only cut so much bloat before the whole system has to go :/ (in the eyes of an executive)
Which is the inherent problem I'm putting out there, that more twitch does to de incentives viewers coming to a creator when they're not live, is a free win for those who do livestreaming less well
Clancy is doing a massive balancing act of balancing sentiment and actually making the platform better against a weakening checkbook from a corporate overlord; that's all
Some very qualified people in the space have been saying that Twitch IS a sinking ship, and it won't be rapid - but I think this is a solid sign of that.continuing.
Shedding services and servers more and more until all tiny profits and margins are met until it's either canned or sold by Amazon.
So another inadvertent W for YouTube, who've actually made it so much more palatable for streams existing on their platform, with the feeds being different as well as a refocus on pushing watch time.
It's a huge expense to have so much "unoptimal" vod storage, they'll save tons on server space.
BUT, creators have called for vods to be given some love for ages - but instead of love, they got the Curleys Dog Experience.
I haven't seen a creator who isn't currently over the 100hrs stored
But Alex, what does this mean?
Well it's simple. Twitch, instead of making their VOD system more discoverable in an attempt to promote users staying on the platform when content isn't live, they've bitten the bullet and essentially scrapped offline content.
Why? Well economy of course.
