NEW βWeβre celebrating a tradition that is at its core about resisting occupation and maintaining community in the face of horrors. You canβt keep politics out of Irish music. No one should try, for two reasons. First, itβs ahistorical. Second, Minnesotans are ready for a big anti-fascist party.β

Evergreen, Northside could use some love. In the form of money. Come on , dig deep friends! No one is coming to save us.

I cannot recommend Transformation Project South Dakota enough, especially their Trans Resilience Fund: www.transformationprojectsd.org/trans-resili...
They provide microgrants to South Dakota families with trans kids who have to go out of state to receive care.
Flyer Image that reads βNorthside needs you (yes you!) your friends and your family tooβ at the bottom of the flyer is the link to contribute to mutual aid.
From friend: linktr.ee/NorthsideMA - March 1 is approaching FAST. Share far and wide! Our neighbors in North Minneapolis have a BIG need! Help prevent eviction and get rent paid.
the rent fund for students at my alma mater has $36,000 in rent requests for tomorrow and only $7,500 in the bank
if we raised $10,600 with a crystal shrek what kind of crazy thing do i need to do to raise $28,500?
No matter where you live, if you have any capacity to volunteer, we have a lot of unpaid folks helping administer rent and skymiles donations, and we need more support.
Please read & boost this 𧡠from Minnesota (Mpls, specifically) about the earth shaking rent crisis we're experiencing due to the compounding impact of the violent federal occupation of our state by ICE/CBP/etc
& please help find donors who can afford to lift bigger amounts on emergency timelines π¨

If you have the means to help pay peopleβs rent (because even if the strike happens, the rent will need to be paid eventually, and some people are already dangerously past due) go to www.standwithminnesota.com/adoptarent
Here's another fund to boost, Minnesotans
Image of Lucy Laney Elementary with text that reads βThe recent rise in immigration raids is creating lasting hardship for families in our community. With March 1st approaching, many families are facing rent and utility bills without steady income. Some parents have been detained and others have been unable to work out of fear - leaving households without their primary providers. The impact wonβt end quickly. Missed work and mounting bills mean families need continued support to stay stable and together. All funds raised go directly to families in the Lucy Laney School communityβ
Please donate to this fund supporting families at Lucy Laney in North Minneapolis. March 1st is right around the corner and they NEED your support π

Please keep boosting to your networks outside of Minneapolis, we are getting it done, but it takes all hands!
After months of relentless rapid response in Minneapolis, members of Defend the 612 had a moment to breathe and reflect on the lessons theyβve learned, the grief they carry, and the citywide fellowship they hope will endure. The crisis is not over, and Iβm grateful they made time to speak with me.
Operation Metro Love Thy Neighbor Hello Friends of Operation Metro Love Thy Neighbor! Many of our neighbors in Minneapolis are being targeted based on the color of their skin, their accent, or their country of origin. From a healthcare standpoint, this is leading to very scary outcomes, as patients are terrified to leave home and are foregoing necessary care in an effort to stay safe. For moms and babies, medical professionals scramble to meet these needs and to ensure patient safety. As neighbors and community members, we want to ensure these moms and babies have their needs met in terms of supplies, personal care items, and infant and toddler items. While it's a far cry from a baby shower, we are doing our best to ensure that our neighboring mamas have what they need in times of massive distress. All items purchased on this list will be delivered to me and then immediately sent out into the community for maximum impact. On behalf of all the mama and baby teams, we so appreciate your love and generosity.
Black image with white text and white line drawing of a parent holding a baby. Text reads: "Mama + Baby donations needed. All items with an asterisk must be unused. Other items may be gently used. These items will go to immediate homes and be appreciated. [heart emoji] Thank you! ITEMS NEEDED: diapers (size 0-6)*, baby wipes*, pacifiers*, teething items*, free and clear detergent, baby shampoo, baby-safe lotion, infant clothing (all sizes), infant hats, baby blankets, burp cloths, swaddlers, hands-free baby carriers, breastfeeding guards*, feeding pillows, maternity pillows, belly bands, nipple cream*, pimps, infant safe toys, pack + play, epsom salt."
We're seeing a drop off in newborn donations in Minneapolis. Birth workers are seeing small/early babies due to stress/food insecurityβICE has not stoppedβfamilies still in desperate need of support. If you're able, here is a wishlist compiled by folks doing mutual aid

And i say finals plural because i do not see the menβs, womenβs, hockey, curling events as separate instances from my vantage point.
To fully explain my current relationship to sport it would take a dissertation length analysis. Nonetheless, these Olympics and those finals were historical. There will be VERY interesting documentaries/movies in the future.
