Yeah, i had to think about it. L take from me really. I was wrong
Frankly, that's been pretty much my entire adult life haha
hghghf
I've given it thought and I'm unsure how to think about it.
There is a pretty large divide between fiction and reality and, "maps" hurt real people. As much as i dislike some things, noone is actually being hurt by art beyond their feelings.
Like I said, the moment we draw a line, we lose.
Yeah, i did. But, i was wrong. In order for artistic freedom to continue, i have to accept the existance of things that i dont like.
You are right. I was wrong. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean I shouldn't accept its existence. Nothing is happening to irl people.
The moment a line in the Sand is drawn, the whole fandom is lost. I should have known that.
You are right, i was wrong. I was confronted with something I had never given much thought into beyond thing bad ew.
Just because I don't like something doesn't mean I shouldn't accept its existence.
Because the moment a line is drawn between right and wrong, artistic freedom dies.
I was wrong.
Youre right, and i was wrong. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean I shouldn't accept its existence. The moment a line is drawn, everyone loses, and i was wrong.
You are right, and i was wrong. I was confronted with something I hadn't put much thought into before.
I can dislike something. But, i should also learn to accept its existance. Because the moment a line is drawn, we're all screwed.
I know this is gonna label me evil in a lot of people's eyes. Its a fight i cant win. But being pro-kink is the only way the furry fandom as a whole survives. I don't have to like a specific thing, I just have to accept that it exists.
Such a difficult gray area topic to navigate that, I don't really think they're ever will be a perfect answer to it.
Sorry for the ramble, it's easier for me to parse my thoughts when they are words in front of my face.
I was confronted today with a belief that I had never really given much thought, never looked deeper into.
I'm not exactly happy with the realization but it's necessary I think. Iunno. Its
curate their own social space, but. We cant be cutting people out.
If we cut them out, then
"This horse cant speak, but is otherwise provenly sentient, can it consent?"
Quickly turns into
"You drew an animal, thats sodomy, animal porn, zoophile!"
Then they'll try and take a mile and we lose everything.
So while I really don't like children depicted and stated as children in fictional sexual material, I shouldn't ostracize people that do.
Because fiction should be free.
People are allowed to like and dislike what they want,
My parter says it best here tbh.
"I think, the conclusion Iβm leaning towards is that ALL forms of fiction should have the legal right to exist, because the alternative is a world where the things we can and canβt see and share are decided by the fuckin government"
If we give them an inch,
Teacup Gryphons could be interpreted as under that umbrella. Someone might see their height and cute appearance and assume they're a child. I've even had to defend them before by bringing up the species docket and proving that they are just small and That they are all my age.
As much as it makes me uncomfortable to admit it, It might just be a necessary thing at this point. In order to retain artistic freedom, there has to be a bit of uncomfortable in it too.
There's so much gray area up to interpretation that nearly anybody could fall under the umbrella.
Even my
Consent is the mental and emotional maturity to understand and the ability to communicate it. That leaves things like quads even up for debate. Since Aylorra, a quad dragon, canonically doesnt really "speak" english, is consent clear and communicated?
Or, even other things too.
Drawing a line in the dirt between right and wrong in an artistic space like this, implies that the line can be moved.
If we deem one thing as evil or immoral, what's the stop people from expanding those lines to include other things.
There can always be a "what about X thing" argument.
Informed
The whole thing around Cub is such a difficult scenario to navigate.
Children by definition don't have the emotional or mental maturity to give informed consent.
But at the same time, they're just drawings. And no one's getting hurt.
There's no way to navigate this cleanly.
Especially because
Today i learned spyro is canonically 12 years old.
Im, kinda uncomfortable learning that tbh. I always thought he was in his early 20s, or i guess the species age equivalent of someone in the early 20s.
Its such a gray area touchy thing.
I dont know, how old is Spyro? It's a franchise I know nothing about.
The perfect spot for eggies!

This is really important. The FRB is soliciting feedback on a proposal that would require banks to accept any legal transaction. Please leave a comment in support of this. It's simple, takes like a minute and you can do it anonymously. There just needs to be more feedback on this issue.
