Certainly looks that way!

Certainly looks that way!
Drive through also produces huge amounts of litter. My local park is approx half a mile from a McDonald's and the amount of branded litter left in the carpark and road alongside the park makes me wanna puke π€’
I'm down in Dorset, south coast UK
All in, we've been finding zebras to cost circa Β£150k and signalised Β£220k+. Madness!
That's for all design, safety audits, consultation, equipment, construction, supervision etc. We do often lump in some additional works such as kerb realignment, raised table etc too, hence costs on the high side.
I love it when a plan comes together...
Ah I see! I have been known to tuck my trousers leg into my socks, and then forget to untuck it and wander around looking especially stylish...
A rather tatty sticker on the side of an e-bike battery. The sticker is half blue and half yellow, representing the Ukrainian flag, and the words on it say Fight Putin, Ride a bike, with a logo above depicting a petrol pump.
I got this sticker four years ago and it still feels very pertinent... Of course the rationale to save fuel and ride your bike gets ever stronger π
Still very dapper...you really need a chain guard though! π
Selfie of blonde haired woman wearing a dark red fleece, bright floral patterned trousers, and carrying a bundle of long timber stakes over her shoulder.
Not cycling today, but walking to buy some tree stakes in my jazzy trousers (which I appreciate you can hardly see in the photo, I never have been good at taking selfies!) π
That's madness!! π±
Absolutely - More Bus often state that badly/illegally parked cars hold up their services.
Our local bus company has supported many cycleway schemes in recent years. And they have supported the introduction of a large new 20mph zone including on bus routes - because they acknowledge that it's not these interventions that slow buses down, it's too much car traffic.
Totally. I fear that, as usual, the cogs of government turn far too slowly to nip this in the bud.
I try really hard not to be a judgemental person...but I have to admit I can't help judging anyone that would buy one of these.
A family of three walk along a narrow footway on a residential street congested with rat running and school traffic. Wheely bins on the footway not helping the situation for pedestrians, either.
This morning I walked home from the gym a bit later than usual, so it was right in the middle of the school run. My god. These normally quiet roads were rammed. I genuinely found it difficult to cross several roads which are little residential back streets. So dangerous and intimidating for kids.
Very chic! π€©
Oh yes, a chain guard (and mud guards) are a must for any utility bike! π
An awkward selfie showing me on my bike wearing shiny black boots, teal trousers, a black to and a grey checked jacket. And a red floral neck buff.
Thought we could start a new mega thread: "What I'm wearing on my bike today". Will be fun to see the diversity βΊοΈ
Today I'm in the office and it's not raining, so I'm cycling in my smart work clothes π
Is this the right one?
www.hydroflask.com/gb/hydroflas...
This looks excellent and a good price too π
This looks perfect, does it really not leak around the clicky part?!
Useful additional feature! Do you mean this one? amzn.eu/d/0eCiVuat
Thank you, I shall have a look. I feel like it shouldn't be too much to ask...! π
Same question but UK-based!
I have a cup which doesn't leak but isn't insulated, another which is insulated but leaks, and another which is insulated and doesn't leak, but is difficult to drink from ππ© Any recommendations, ideally not too £££?
A black and tan saluki with a very long snoot sunbathing on a blanket.
After weeks and weeks of interminable rain, a couple of hours pottering in my garden followed by a cup of tea sitting in the sunshine feels like utter bliss βΊοΈ
My sun-loving, rain-hating dog agrees!
A cargo bike filled with bags of shopping parked outside a Lidl supermarket.
Weekly family shop done. Cycle parking right outside the entrance of my local Lidl, the high is great. Sadly, though, I only do the shop by bike if I'm going early in the morning, otherwise the route there is too horrific to contemplate π
A bizarre road and footway layout whereby the footway gets narrower and narrower before finishing abruptly, with no dropped kerbs to enable a wheelchair user or visually impaired person to continue safely.
Quite incredible that anyone ever thought this was ok!
Luckily, active travel funding is going to sort it out. Active travel and accessibility go hand in hand πͺ
Like my local motor lobby group, I expect many of the members of that Facebook group are there as bemused observers rather than fully on board with the cause....
I urge you to check out @wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk and Wheels for All (I don't think they're on Bluesky but Google them and have a look at their website)
I can't either, plus I find it's quite mentally draining to be bombarded with so much negativity!
