les gens mentaient pas, c'était effectivement très très très cool love eternal
i hope you do end up writing something b/c you probably have a more useful perspective on what it's like getting started with it! i've used it for so long i've kind of forgotten the pain points
βͺi updated my blog post on getting started with haxepunk! here's my pitch: i consider it to be the platonic ideal of a playful, expressive, and deep game-making tool. if you know how to code a little bit, you can make any kind of 2D game in it very quickly.

someone kindly modded LOVE ETERNAL to be much easier, if that speaks to you
here's mine :)
this is where i post from
a promo image for the game LOVE ETERNAL, featuring a grey sky with a massive statue rising out of an ocean. atop its head sits a statue of a castle, and the entire subject is covered in a net.
Today I played Love Eternal. Fantastic. Hardass, but fantastic. To say more than that would be to give the game away, and it's the kind of story you should experience blind if you can. Easily one of my favorites of the year! It uses the medium to its fullest, which is a rarity in video games.
If you're intrigued by LOVE ETERNAL, or if you've finished it, this is a very insightful conversation between @patrickklepek.bsky.social and @brlka.com about its origins, inspirations, and the overall philosophy behind designing it. I want more people to play this game! @remapradio.bsky.social
(new pinned)
also i released a commercial title built in haxepunk, so it's not just for small jam games! it's powerful and you can do really ambitious stuff with it

i reallllly enjoy playing with trenchbroom... it feels like super legos
two haxepunk games dropped in 2026... could this be the start of the great haxepunk revival
narfnra.itch.io/battle-narf battle narf is out because i got tired of staring at it. you're welcome
I hit credits in Love Eternal a few days ago. If you enjoyed Celeste or VVVVVV, and like the idea of a psychological horror platformer, I think youβll have a good time. Does some cool structural stuff in the final act! youtu.be/HfZTnvijS74?...
I finally wrapped back around to finishing Love Eternal.
Play Love Eternal. It's so good.
I know Iβve been asking for $ these past few weeks but in light of last nightβs barbarism:

ahh that fucking sucks, i'm sorry narf :((
What a messed up little game. It's very good.
a beloved best friend and their partner could use some help, please give a look if you could!
proud of you
i really enjoyed book of the new sun by gene wolfe... really fun and imaginative fantasy, feels like there's a new idea every page
thank you for the thoughtful words!
lastly uh
unlike key fairy, i don't feel like i can recommend LOVE ETERNAL to everyone. you have to enjoy masocore platformers to enter, which is a high bar.
but behind that bar is my current GOTY. Look up nothing. Try it.

yeah, that part is scary, pinging for games is anxiety inducing esp. if you feel like you're not going to pose enough of a challenge (which i think no one who actually answers a ping cares about). does get easier with practice tho
nah going 0-20 indefinitely is not sustainable for any competitive hobby... you gotta find other beginners to have silly scrambles with. the ideal situation is you convince someone else to get in on the ground floor with you but that's a hard sell...
which i realize is annoying because i'm kind of saying the exact thing you're pointing out people say but maybe the truth is it's both annoying and kind of true haha
honestly there is a bit of fumbling in the dark and trusting the process to it, too, i.e. playing and getting overwhelmed and sleeping it on.
