If it took 2 days with no background knowledge and minimal resources to spin up 100 virtualized android phones each with its own IG account, I can only imagine what well resourced groups are doing.

The dead internet theory is alive and well.

Want to add: table livestream, OBS websocket integration to trigger multiple camera angles, phone app for people to connect their trainers from home and race over livestream.

Need to add: Lego world, dc motors with encoders, a front end webui to display race stats and bowling alley style animations.

The basics are done. Currently it has 2 lanes each which connect to a Bluetooth trainer. The more watts you put out the faster your lanes motor goes. There’s reed switches for positioning, a webui to control the races, leaderboards and race history.

Thanks Barry. I’m pretty conflicted right now. It’s so clear to me after Wednesday that it’s actively harmful and has no accountability. Right now deleting the main funnel to my site feels like the best thing I can do ironically.

So that leaves me conflicted. Do I delete my Instagram which is my primary driver of traffic and where I get the most new customers? I know I can get a new job, I don't know that I can continue feeding into a platform that is telling me to kill myself and unquestionably harming others.

But they've intentionally created a platform that people are hooked on and use without intention. There are so many comments around the internet with people talking about how traumatized they are and listing MULTIPLE videos. I think this has more to do with addiction than people enjoying gore.

The issue is complicated by a self admitted tech addiction where my phone ends up in my hand, unlocked, and on a feed with 0 thought. This is by design. It's one reason why I think Wednesday's event is so harmful. Not only is Meta showing traumatizing content to children and adults.

Beyond that, it has been pushing pro suicide content to me for at least a few weeks. My dad took life when I was 11, I'm sure this is a data point somewhere on the internet. How is it ok for me to make silly videos and try to sell bungees when Meta has directly shown me that its actively harmful?
