I barely dragged myself out of bed for this photo. Thankfully it wasn’t cloudy.

The Hanalei Bridge is a single lane steel truss bridge located outside of Hanalei, Hawai'i. This bridge connects Kauai's North Shore to the rest of the island. This photograph was made using a medium format TLR film camera with Ilford HP5+ film.

Sometimes I find the differences in social media to be fascinating.

I posted this same photo (with a nearly identical caption) on Threads only to be met with “that photo sucks”.

There’s something about looking at a family’s old vacation photos.

I couldn’t say for sure, but that’s a great guess. It lines up with other images.

Back on the archival grind. Digitized another ~200 slides - mostly from New Zealand (I think) or one of the many islands in the South Pacific.

Mine handles about 95% of my film output at this point. Definitely ensure the tank is fully seated onto the unit. My first unit was defective and leaked chems, but they quickly replaced it and I’ve been using my second unit with no issues.

I’d estimate I’ve put nearly 80 rolls + 50 sheets thru it

Older phones, not older photos… What I wouldn’t give for an edit-history on posts in 2026.

get sued for doing so. Also, they still slow down older phones, but now you have the option to disable it.

The wiki is actually pretty good about the whole thing.

Not to defend Apple (because they definitely messed up), but the issue was slightly more nuanced. They deliberately slowed down processors of older photos on newer versions of iOS to prevent the phone from shutting down under load.

The issue is they didn’t disclose that to the user, and they did..

About $137K an acre, if the land auction they just did is any indication.

Large swaths of this land were just sold for a large development near the TSMC chip plant in Phoenix.

Every day they take more of our desert spaces away from us, and soon there will be no more.
