The Hanalei Bridge is a single lane steel truss bridge located outside of Hanalei, Hawai'i. This bridge connects Kauai's North Shore to the rest of the island. This photograph was made using a medium format TLR film camera with Ilford HP5+ film.

Sometimes I find the differences in social media to be fascinating.
I posted this same photo (with a nearly identical caption) on Threads only to be met with βthat photo sucksβ.
Yeah I know - thatβs the entire point of the post π
The old βmake a bad photo black and whiteβ trick never fails me.
Can you believe this is smack dab in the middle of Phoenix?

How about that bokeh? I wonder what (telephoto?) lens was used to shoot this image.

Thereβs something about looking at a familyβs old vacation photos.
I couldnβt say for sure, but thatβs a great guess. It lines up with other images.
Hereβs another that may be from the same beach
Back on the archival grind. Digitized another ~200 slides - mostly from New Zealand (I think) or one of the many islands in the South Pacific.
If anything looks familiar please let me know - Iβm always hunting for the story behind the photo.

Mine handles about 95% of my film output at this point. Definitely ensure the tank is fully seated onto the unit. My first unit was defective and leaked chems, but they quickly replaced it and Iβve been using my second unit with no issues.
Iβd estimate Iβve put nearly 80 rolls + 50 sheets thru it
A truly random assortment of photos from the latest round of dev/scan.
Color is from the Superstition Mountains on the Canon 7, and BW is from the F3 from the latest trip to Omaha.

Great photo! Papago Park is one of my favorite spots in the city!
Older phones, not older photosβ¦ What I wouldnβt give for an edit-history on posts in 2026.
get sued for doing so. Also, they still slow down older phones, but now you have the option to disable it.

The wiki is actually pretty good about the whole thing.
Not to defend Apple (because they definitely messed up), but the issue was slightly more nuanced. They deliberately slowed down processors of older photos on newer versions of iOS to prevent the phone from shutting down under load.
The issue is they didnβt disclose that to the user, and they did..
Thank you!
Excited to have one of my photos chosen for the gallery portion of @phxfilmrevival.comβs Time and Space anthology & gallery show.

About $137K an acre, if the land auction they just did is any indication.
Large swaths of this land were just sold for a large development near the TSMC chip plant in Phoenix.
Every day they take more of our desert spaces away from us, and soon there will be no more.

A gnarled tree stump stands in the foreground with sage green and dark green foliage around the bottom of the frame and growing up behind the stump. There is a slope of tan rock and dirt going from the left to top right in the background and the sky is grey-blue with clouds
An upside-down J-shaped boulder rest in mid frame. The foreground is desert brush and foliage with some smaller boulders and rocky ground. The background is a small hill covered in more boulders and the sky is light blue with wispy clouds
The foreground is desert sand with a few bushes bisecting the shot in the middle. The background is a mountain peak with blue-grey sky behind that.
Two people, a man and a woman, stand centered in the shot. Theyβre staring left and the man is slightly more in the foreground than the woman. The man is wearing a dark baseball cap, grey sweater, and salmon shorts with a green backpack and holding a camera to take a shot. The woman is wearing a grey sweater and black leggings and holding the leash to a dog that is off frame. The background is desert landscape with some foliage and a saguaro is the back right. The sky is blue with wispy clouds
