After several groups and parties raised objections with regard to the decisions on the Global Goal on Adaptation and the mitigation work programme, the closing plenary at #COP30 is suspended to allow for further consultations

Press conference room absolutely packed at #COP30 as 20+ ministers gather to call for a roadmap away from fossil fuels to be a key outcome of this summit

The loud and colourful display is a marked change from COP27, COP28 and COP29.

These were held in countries with restrictive laws on protests, forcing civil society to hold much smaller demonstrations inside the COP’s blue zone, which is technically UN soil.
