Board of Peace or bored of peace?
I can see that reading comprehension isn't your strong point so I'm going to stop replying to you now.
"In addition, the UK has responded to a US request which will facilitate specific and limited defensive action against missile facilities in Iran which were involved in launching strikes at regional allies."
What is your point? The UK is not attacking Iran.
Extremely, perhaps vanishingly rare, unanimous consensus from six out of six callers to the BBC Any Answers? programme on BBC Radio 4 today. Every single caller, whether they approve of Sir Keir Starmer or not, supports the decision to not enter the UK into the war against Iran.
It pleases me to see that an actual expert will be on the programme. (Thatβs not throwing shade at George, but heβs more nakedly political.)
ambitions but putting the phone on silent is rarely an option. An addiction to scrolling (here, Twitter, Instagram) requires real mental effort and practiced discipline to avoid or pull myself from, too. Easy hits of entertainment tailored to my interests.
reading them, or starting to read them until something else intrudes upon my life.
I've imposed a ban on buying new books but also lately taken to my local library and borrowing myriad books from my wish list and attempting to sit down and read.
Periodic iPhone notifications are a threat to my...
I confess to not reading books. Before university, I was a prolific reader, though I never managed to finish "Against the Day" by Thomas Pynchon after renewing my library loan the maximum number of times (twice) and only reaching page 700 or so.
These days I am guilty of buying books and not...
I'm glad I was able to find a reputable source for this, because I found it bizarre that the comments by (former Israeli Prime Minister) Naftali Bennett were not widely reported two weeks ago.
And I hope it does not come to pass that a NATO member will be invaded

Wondering whether performance-linked pay which vests over time would result in improved governance and long-term policymaking.
Time to vest? Oh, at least one business cycle (~ two full Parliamentary terms, for arguments sake)
% of pay which is not performance-linked? Open to debate.
Not sure if it's just me, but most of the advertisements on Truth Social right now feature Sir Keir Starmer! In close second, Piers Morgan, and with Boris Johnson bringing up the rear.
I thank my local Tesco for providing a cage for disposing of soft plastics (ostensibly for recycling, but Iβm in no position to know if they are actually recycled!)
Just saw this over on Twitter.
And I saw yesterday a statement that the UAE would be punishing purveyors of βfake newsβ which could also include actual video or photo evidence of strikes

I wasn't planning to watch it but I read this and it piqued my interest (and contains spoilers):

Over on www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/ multiple posts a day criticise Liquid Glass and indeed Apple.
I think it was a bloody stupid idea but looks like we're stuck with it.
Good to see this getting more attention in the news.
After 6 months on Universal Credit, you also need to start attending meetings with an advisor under the Restart Scheme, which is outsourced.
Everything that the Restart Scheme does should be done in-house.

The question no-one is asking is βWho earns more: a plumber or a Member of Parliament?β
Will they then pivot to Malthusean βthere are too many people for this planet to sustainβ arguments and thereby argue in favour of a mass cull?
Futurama fans, unite! And we shall call them βNibblersβ!
I find it quite annoying that YouGov always posts the results of these surveys before they've even sent me the link to complete the survey. Granted, 6,682 respondents is not insignificant but occasionally I'll see the results and think "Hang on a minute!"
Had to be done!
